"Fresh intel from Activision headquarters reports that new global conflicts are planned in the form of downloadable multiplayer maps for the award-winning Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. In development for both Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation3 computer entertainment system, the upcoming downloadable content will thrust gamers into a hot zone of added combat across a variety of intense multiplayer locales."
This does not make mention of the PC version, but I would guess if they put it out for the Xbox and PS3, it will shortly follow for the PC.

I think they made no mention of PC because they intend to charge money for them off the console services, but they would rather easily go uncontrolled in the PC sector.
Money grubbing overrides forward development once again. At least they added modability to the PC version now.

Who knows if the new maps will make it to the PC version. Just because it made it on the consoles, it doesn't mean it will make it to the PC too. Take a look at the prestige system for example. It is only on consoles. Though I don't care because badges aren't that significant to gameplay, but new maps are.

I think they probably will make them on pc. Just about everyother game on consoles that gets map packs also gets map packs for the pc version.

The Variety Map Pack includes four new multiplayer maps. "Creek" is a wide-open village ravaged by combat where concealment is the difference between life and death. In "Broadcast," fight throughout an enemy communications building with confined corridors and wide-open parking lots. "Chinatown" is a foggy downtown district, lit only by a full moon and the neon glow of the city. "Killhouse" features a desolate training warehouse filled with a variety of building mock-ups and soft and hard cover points.

Broadcast doesn't seem to interesting to me. Didn't really like that level in the single player just because the there was barely any cover.
The other 3 sound interesting. I wonder how lit up Chinatown will be and if nightvision will be really useful on that map.
Thanks for keeping us updated with news and awesome pics.

Like Ranzear said, they can't really control that. Once it's released, it's out there to be had in the PC sector.
New maps would be cool though. They're going to have to do something to keep up the interest. Private mods usually do a good job of that though.
Look at Desert Combat. That mod gave a breath of fresh air to BF1942. DC had a strong following well passed BF Vietnam and into BF2.
