i did the mistake to put my problem on a similar thread,i did not see the sticky, very sorry about the double posting.
Hi there, i have the following system set up:
Intel 8200
GA-X38-DS5
Sound blaster xtremegamer
XFX 8800GT 512 MB 640 core
2G XMS2 RAM
1x WD 250G SATA II HDD
1x internal SATA optical drive
Enermax GAlaxy 1000w
after installing the drivers that came with the video card, on the next start up i got the message that the card was not receiving enough power. i hit the net and tried all that was suggested for other models: tried other PCIE connectors, tried the molex to 6-pin connector, changed the 12v connector the the motherboard, disconected the other coponents and went bare minimum... i even tried using the modular cables from the PSU. i have read on some therads for toerh powersupplies that is a communication problem between the PSU and the video card. could this be the problem? would a firmware update for the video card fix this?
