okay, so i just got my 8600gst xxx today. and it doesnt work. i plug it in, and get nothing, my computer seems like it boots fine, the case lights come on, the fans start going (even on the videocard) and nothing shows on my monitor. but if i plug my old card back in (7300LE) it works fine.my only thoughts are that its not compatible with my mobo, or theres an issue with using a vga->dvi adapter.

my current setup is as follows:
Gigabyte GA-M55SLI-S4 mobo
Geforce 7300LE (the 8600 is in its box)
AMD XP X2 4400+
4gb mushkin ram
3 HDDS (1 western digital sata, 1 WD ide, and 1 no-name ide)
and a no-name dvd+/- r/rw
and im around 90% possitive i have a 500w powersupply. and if its not 500, its 420w.

i want this video card to work so plz respond. =)

I had the same problem once. Try resetting cmos, pulling the battery and letting it sit for an hour or two. That's what solved mine.

Are you using the 512MB version or the 256MB version? If you are using the 512MB card you will need to use the special power adapter that came with the video card or it will not work as this card uses power from both the 12v and 5v rails. Let us know.
