View Full Version : Install of 750i a breeze on Vista 32bit
I just slapped that puppy in and blamo! Vista needed new drivers for my Korg K49, optical drives, and all I had to do was deactivate my HD Audio so I could use my SoundBlaster.
Got prompted to activate and just clicked 'yes' no code or nothing.
I copied the 302 bios from Asus and used the EZ app in the bios before the initial boot!
Vista is excellent.

Don't you just love it when installed go without a hitch? :thumleft:
Vista is excellent.
Too bad not everyone think this way.

Glad you are having such a smooth experience.
Sadly this isn't the case for everyone and it is usually these people who make the most noise.
You rarely ever hear people yelling from the top of their lungs how problem free their OS is. Heh. That would prob be a bit strange.

I had the same pleasant experience with my 750i, but I use XP Pro. I did the same thing installing my Soundblaster also. It's a great feeling when things go smooth for a change. (love those Q-Connectors)
The activation was the same for me as well. I thought I'd have to call MS for a new code.
Mobo came with the 203 beta bios which worked well for me.
Did the 302 bios make any other difference aside from the enhanced overclocking?

I've been wanting to pick up a 750i, but have yet to see a review. I want to know from the guys who actually bought it.
How is the overclocking? Highest FSB you get? Stability? 1x x16 1x x8 SLi or is it the full 2x x16? It states that it is Hardware Ready but does not support the full SLI yet.
I want to pick one up with an E8400 and Vista x64.

I can’t comment on OC yet because I’m waiting for my new memory to arrive (should be here Friday). The latest bios (302) kicked up the multiplier to 50x, which is the only change I noticed.
As far as SLI, the manual stated 2x x16 and so does PC Wizard. I plan on waiting for the 8800GT to come down a bit in price before I attempt SLI.
So far I’ve been very happy with this boards performance and stability.
