Hello, I just received new ram from an RMA. I think memtest+ killed my ram. I ran memtest+ this morning before I went to school, around 6:30pm and came back at 2:00pm. I noticed that the newly received ram passed 16 times, but I noticed on the time elapse, that it ended some where around 5 hours from the beginning, so when I came home the "time elapse" was frozen. From that point on, only 1 out of the 2 sticks work without a problem, the other one gives me a quick BSOD on startup during the loading screen, that instantly restarts the PC.
Also, the best part is that, now, when ever I start my PC, it becomes at 4 bit 640x480 resolution, the only way to go back normally is too remove my freaking sound card. Then my PC works fine.
So in the end, my 1 of 2 newly received ram sticks are bad, and somehow out of F***ing nowhere my soundcard causes my 4 bit 640x480 resolution. This is all due to the F***ing Memtest+ that I ran this morning. Now I'm running 2x512MB(1GB) RAM and no sound card, that I paid 150$ for. I'm so pissed...
The only reason I ran memtest+ was to make sure my ram wasn't bad. Everything else worked great, video, soundcard, even the ram its self.
any thoughts / suggestions?
PS: Abit customer support sucks, no one answers their phone!
