I'm completly new to the B3D forums and would just like to start off by saying Hello.

Ok so here is my problem. I have overclocked my Q6600 to 3.0ghz which seems to be fairly stable. The only thing that im having troubles with now is, My computer freezes after a short while. For Example i was doing a stress test with Prime 95 anf after 4 hours in blend my computer freezes.

People have said that it could possibly be my ram. So not beeing a very experienced person in the overclocking department i took their suggestions.

This is what i have right now and seems to be fine, But it will freeze sooner or later..

375x8=3000 fsb. Core Voltage is 1.304
Dram Frequency: 375.1
FSB DRAM: 1:1
(cl) 5.0 clocks
(trcd) 5 clocks
(trp) 5 clcoks
(tras) 14 clocks
(tRC) 21 clocks
(Cr) 2t

Voltage In Cpu-z for ram timings is said to be 1.8v But in my Bios its 2.025..

Any ideas? Thanks in Advance

Okay two things, first of all, if it freezes after 4 hours of prime95, its not stable. Second, how much memory are you running and what type? 2.025 is actually low for most of the performance type memory that is out there. Have you overclocked your memory?

Personally though, I've experienced the same problem. Try raising your vcore just a hair more, because although its just over 1.3 in the BIOS its probably 1.285 or so after vdroop under full load. Also, have you raised your chipset voltages at all, or are they on auto?

My ram is OCZ Platinum XTC REV.2 PC2-6400 2GB 2X1GB DDR2-800 CL4-4-4-15 240PIN DIMM Dual Channel Memory Kit. I am running 2 gigs.

The voltage that is set normaly is 1.8v and now im at 2.0 or 2.025. Thoes timings that i posted are stock and i havent touched them.

The Core Voltage is 1.3v in Cpu-z, I believe thats with the vdroop already. When you asked if i overclocked my memory do you mean the timings?

If i raise the N and S bridges it becomes extremely unstable and wont even boot fully to windows.

Set that memory to 2.2v. OCZ is notorious on these boards as requiring 2.2v. When I asked if you were overclocking your memory, that applies to the timings and the clock speed. If you don't know what I'm talking about though, its probably not overclocked. Try raising your voltage on the mem and see if it solves your problem.

Ok Thanks. I havent touched the mem timings, 5-5-5-14, could i incvreas the timings at all? 5-5-5-15 would that be better than 5-5-5-14

Does your comptuer freeze when it not overclocked?

Try increase the voltage memory to 2.1v.

Okay, I just reread your first post. With your 1:1 memory divider and your current FSB, your memory is actually underclocked to 750mhz, you should be able to get to at least 5-5-5-15. You might even be able to run 4-4-4-12. But work on getting your system totally stable before you start playing with other stuff. Then its easier to figure out what's causing the problem. Start with 2.1-2.2 volts for the memory, see if it helps. After that, if it doesn't lock up anymore, you can start tightening up the timings.

Ok thanks. I'll up the voltage a bit and go from there, and hopefully if that works then i can start tweaking the timings and make the performance better.
