I've been working on this motherboard upgrade for two weeks now. It consists of: the XFX 680i LT MB, an Intel Q6600 processor, a 8600 GT video card, and 4 Gig of Corsair PC6400 DHX RAM. Everything listed so far is brand new. I'm running 2 SATA drives and two IDE DVD burners. I removed the SATA 1 jumpers from the drives (required for my previous MB). The system would only boot up to identifying the processor and counting the RAM. One try out of 5, I could get into the BIOS. When it would boot, it seemed to function OK. Several times I attempted unsuccessfully to load Vista. I decided that my power supply, with a four pin plug, was substandard, so I drove to MicroCenter and bought an Antec TruePower 850 Quattro. Nice power supply and, at first, it seemed to help. Booted, loaded windows, and even loaded some software. Booted repeatedly in the process. Power LED never worked, but I can live with that. Worked fine until I tried to configure the LAN port. Sees my router but doesn't ID it or see the internet through it. Trying to configure the LAN port locked the system up. As of the next day, it hasn't booted since.

I've tried minimum system (RAM, Drives, etc.), I disassembled everything and insulated the feet of the support brackets for my Blue Orb 2, thinking they were shorting something. I've tried the RAM in all the slots. I've set the RAM voltage to the package specs (back when I could get to the BIOS, I've reset the BIOS several times and removed the battery overnight. There are no case shorts, in fact I tried booting it outside the case without result.

This is what it does:

The system starts to boot, it loads the initial BIOS screen, then goes to the second screen where it ID`s processor, counts the RAM, ID`s the Processor Maker, C1E BIOS Supported, EM64T CPU and then stops dead. On the occasions where it booted, it went on to ID teh RAM again, list the IDE devices, and then the SATA drives, but it's been a while since I've gotten that far.

I believe I've tried everything mentioned in the forum and I posted a ticket on Sunday. Should I RMA it to TigerDirect or wait to deal with XFX? This is the board I really want to run, if I can get one that works. I just want to get back up and running as fast as I can with minimal downtime.

Looks like the support team has issued an RMA to get the ball rolling.
