Nop. You can get a cheap old 775pin that OCs really well though.

What motherboard is it?
If it's a Nvidia based board, you can try nTune.
If all else fails you can shoot for a custom bios.

So are you saying there aren't any overclocking options in your motherboard's BIOS?
Depending on what motherboard do you have there are a few options as far as windows overclocking goes however I do not recommend overclocking in windows.

no theres no support i guess.

Yaa, intel made Mobos are 100% locked from overclocking... :-/

They are nice though, they work so well. I can't really point you to a good cheap 775 board, but someone here will. I would say get a Intel chipset though. Don't get VIA or Nvidia.

You could give SetFSB a try.

Not all are 100% locked as there are some Intel made boards that have some overlocking options.

You need a 3rd party app to tell you which websites are safe and which are not? Thats hilarious

If I'm not mistaken your board is one at the bottom of the list "SLG505YC264BT (Intel DP35DP)" but I'll have do some searching to see if your board uses that same clock generator.

so i should download the beta and give it a try then.

You never know, thinking it came from you I thought it would be good, I click it and get a warning.

Well I am sure that link I posted is a commonly known website like "google" or "yahoo" so M.O.T. would flag it as bad...
You shouldn't need an app to tell you which website are fine and which are not unless you don't know what to look for when you are surfing the internet.
so i should download the beta and give it a try then.
I'm not sure if you sure but on the other hand what could go wrong...

See if this clock generator is in the drop down menu:
"SLG505YC264BT"

Mmmmm, I've never used SetFSB so just let me think for a sec...
The "Current FSB....." is obviously what your clocks are currently set at.....
Try moving one of the sliders until the "Select FSB..... numbers change.
While trying this don't press the "Set FSB" button as that'll set any setttings you change.

do those numbers look right and how far should i go if i want to put it up to 2.6?
werty316
02-13-2008, 05:24 AM
The "Current FSB...." and "Select FSB...." look correct however I'm not sure what those numbers in the green boxes mean. My guess is those numbers in the green boxes are the maximum amount you can move the sliders. The "760" could mean the maximum FSB you can reach is 760 but then again I am not sure.
A FSB of 200MHz on your CPU will give you are clockspeed of 2.6GHz.

i think setfsb is wrong or something cause heres what cpu z said:

Looks like it dropped your multiplier..., its either that or the energy saving feature on your motherboard, if it has one, is dropping the multiplier.

Sorry I can't be of anymore help than I can as my board isn't compatible with SetFSB so I can't guide you through on how to use it.
Unless someone else knows how to use it I guess you'll have to settle with what you got unless you pick up another board that doesn't have limited overclocking options

the top slider changes the fsb and ddr frequencys, and the bottom slider is for pci-e and pci frequencys if that helps?
Miker
02-13-2008, 06:23 AM
You will never be able to OC right with that MoBo, get a nice Mobo ment for light OCing.

Wait til you actually start overclocking!
Don't even bother with non-BIOS overclocking.

Actually that helps, don't touch the bottom slider, just move the top one. If you don't have memory that likes to overclock see if BIOS has any ram divider options and if it doesn't, you are gonna be quite limited when trying to overclock.

hmm well shouldnt i just oc it with the top slider then instead of going int bios?

Nope. BIOS overclocking is always the better option. I use system tools (nTune) just as a tool for seeing what will run stable, what temps will be like and what not. I always set everything up in the BIOS though.

If you don't have memory that overclocks very well, you're gonna need to use a memory divider or your overclock won't get far.
