8800GT Hangs while gaming

Recently, I have been having some issues with my card and I read that a lot of other people were having this same issue. After gaming for anywhere from 15-30min (WoW and CoD4), my screen will just go black but sound will continue to loop in the background. I can't minimize or Alt+Ctrl+Del to end task and the only way out is to actually hit my reset button.

Is this due to a faulty card or driver issues? I switched my drivers from 169.25 to 169.28 and the problem seems to have stopped in CoD4 but now started in WoW.

Anyone know what the issue is?

Edit: The card is set to stock 600/900 clocks, and temp's max out at 59c (Rev2).

I have/had the same problem. It seems to be a driver error. Just hope for a new release from Nvidia.. then we might get this resolved.

Yeah I heard a lot of people are having these issues, all in different games. Some games will work perfectly for some while others give off these results. It seems very odd actually.

I havent had this problem in a few weeks.. Im running the beta drivers from nVidia.. that might be worth a shot for you too

yeah i had issues with my Xfx 8800gt.
Try the 169.32 drivers on the xfx site.

Sorry, I'm actually running the 169.32 drivers. It seems with 169.25 the issue was happening with CoD4 (2-3 times), but with 169.32 it happened with WoW (only once so far). If it is driver related, then it really isn't such an issue but if it is my actual card, then that is quite a problem.

But it doesn't seem like it is the card. My temps are quite low (mid 40's Idle at 35% fan and ~59c Load), and even if it is overclocked, the card runs fine (usually only overclock for Benchmarks, stock for gaming). But when gaming at stock, it just randomly happens like it did last night.
