currently I have a s939 x2 3800+ and a 8800gt. I've been living under a rock so I don't know which are the good boards/cpu. This system is mainly for games, like company of heroes and starcraft2. I'm also on a budget so I'm looking for the best deal. Would it cheaper/better getting something else? How good is it for overclocking on air? I live in the u.s. so tigerdirect is cheap/notax

I have run that board and CPU together with absolutely no issues. I was able to get the CPU to 3.05 on air, stable. You might get more, or less. Depends on if they send you the B3 stepping or the G0. Not bad for $400 though. Keep in mind that the OCZ ram is notorious for not running at the JEDEC specs of 1.8v, so you might have to boot once with only one stick, set the voltage at 2.1-2.2v for the memory then power down and put the rest in.

Thats the board i run.. its a great board.

The CPU is a good CPU, plus its a Quad!

Same with the RAM.. its good but like srpeters said, you might have to boot with a single and up the voltage. Although i didnt, sometimes you do have to.

For the price, thats really good.
