So my xp2-8500 have blown again. I believe there is something wrong with these sticks. Every person i have met that has owned this sticks has had nothing but trouble with them.
I myself have gone threw near 3 sets of these sticks, even switched motherboards incase that was part of the problem.
Not to mention i have started a support ticket over at the mushkin site to no avail. once the ticket is started the only thing i have recieved is a blank EMAIL from you guys.
THIS IS TERRIBLE SUPPORT. I buy one of your flagship components at the time and recieve trash. And you guys dont even really seem to care.
I can promis you I will never buy mushkin again unless something is done about this.
I currently even have a "second" set of these sticks as when i did my first RMA mushkin sent a set with one dead stick in it that i have been trying to mail back. Again, I do not want to be the one to pay for mushkins mistake and can not even have these returned as i have lost all information regarding how they would like these shipped and wont responde with anythin more then a blank Email!!!

Sorry its been so long since a post here and I didn't have this tab open yesterday.

If you know alot of people with a problem with this ram, can you tell me a couple of things.

Are they running 680i boards?
Using over 2.2v on the ram without direct active cooling
Running beyond advertised speeds, since voltage range allowed upto 2.35v

If I took rma's from one chipset out of the picture, rma's for this kit are close to none.

Last time I heard we have the lowest rma rate in the industry .

Is this really your 6th rma on this kit? You really need new motherboard, its not our fault!

edit your on step 2 now. Once we confirm proof of purchase, you'll be at the point of shipping back the kit.

ps. No reason to be mad at us, I can comfortably say, its 99.999999999% your motherboard and if you put ram in the board again, it will happen again, just takes time.

After the first problem and replacing the motherboard once. they haven't been ran over 2.1V (except to test) and are actively cooled @800mhz. I am currently replacing the motherboard again:frown: and yes most people I heard with issue were on the 680i board. Funny thing is when i first ran into issue with these on a 650i was told to get a 680i by mushkin as the newer intel chipset were yet to be released.

Ya, at the time testing had shown that. But its obvious that is not the case for everyone.

Some boards just work, requires lots of tweaking, others just don't. Running 800Mhz on a 680i with 1:1 is your best bet. Many go this route for performance since it is normally best running 1T 800Mhz 1:1 , then other ways even 1200Mhz.

Alot of 680i users have also been telling me, 2.275v and over is where problems start occuring for them, on there ** board and memory kit, they say never to use over 2.275 even benching.

Yea i can see that, I have never takin this current kit beyond 2.3V myself heck they spent less then 10 mins at that voltage i think. I am just frustrated, maybe it has more to do with my board then i believe maybe not. Having your memory die this often no matter what the root cause is very frustrating.

Yup, I understand, I had an 680i myself, very shortly.

We have agreed to the last email. I have asked the return authorization to be sent out to you.

OK, so I have worked out with support a replacement.

I think i am going to be gettin some hp2-6400 sticks as they run at a lower voltage.
Thank you mushkin!

I am just worried that when i move to the new 45nm 1333fsb CPU's there lower bandwidth is going to hold my OCing back...
you couldn't recommend something else could you?

Those would be your best bet. Do you plan on a dual or quad core.

Quad core FSB wall is still ~450 for most people (p35 and x38 boards)

This kit is very capable, Mike in the official forums just got one and is running 1000Mhz 2.0v on his maximus formula.

Rated for that kit is 1.8 - 2.1v.
