Sorry for the double post,I'm hoping an xfx tech person will have an answer for this one. Tried to update to 07 bios, burned .iso to a disc, restarted with disc in drive, everything seemed to go alright, the updater said "flash update complete", I then restarted to nothing but a black screen, i reset the cmos and it now shows it is still the 06 bios. I was really optimistic about finally having an .iso based flash over a windows based one and it obviously didn't work out.Any ideas on this one

Did the windows based one work? XFX suggests using a windows based flash tool.

It is really were that it said it worked but then doesn't. Could it be a failsafe? It resets to old version, is your CMOS jumper set or something?

Did you just let it boot from the disk? Or did you press the key combo that it displayed at the bottom during the POST (have to have full screen logo disabled) to enter the AWD Flash utility. Just booting from the disk doesn't work right, I had to use the AWD utility to get it to flash properly.

I was able to flash mine from a dvd-rw with the AWD utility. If you disable your floppy drive, it won't look for it there.

Loaded everything onto a floppy, awdflash came up when I input the file it says "source file not found" I got the awdflash utility off of the abit site. Don't know if this matters at all.

You don't have to boot from the disk, the board comes with an AWD BIOS utility already installed. If you disable full logo on boot, it'll show the key combo at the bottom of the screen. Anyway, it'd be below the Phoenix BIOS version. It'll be a string of like 8-10 alphanumeric characters that ends in something like P05, P06 or P07. The latest for the 680i LT is P07, that's what you want to see.
