Hopefully somebody here can help.
I finally got the SMP client to work, but after Rebooting my computer it refuses to work again.
First off, the service didnt start as i thought it was supposed to. So i decided to run fah.exe to start it manually. It tells me Note: Please read the license agreement (fah.exe -license). Further
use of this software requires that you have read and accepted this agreement.
I thought that was odd.. so i did what it asked. Now it says that it is unable to continue due to a "generic socket failure" It goes on for a while, and eventually gives an error code of 1 and 10061. I already tried everything it said to fix error 1, and i cant find anything about the other.
I have reinstalled, but when rebooting i get the same problem.
Any suggestions? Or should i just go to the GUI version and hope for the best?
Thanks!

I am not 100% sure but i beleive the SMP client has issues running as a service. I just run 2 instances of the normal console version.

Ya i have a feeling that may be the case. I got the issue with fah.exe not running, and i got it to run at startup so its really not too big of a deal now.
Atleast im folding again. Gotta love the 1700 point SMP work units though. Its gonna help my score a lot :P

You might want to verify if the SMP beta client has expired or not. You may need to upgrade to a new version. Apparently if it has expired it will not run if your PC has been shut down or restarted.
I have it installed and it will not run as a service. I created a shortcut on my desktop to start it manually. The thing I like about it is the huge number of points each WU gives you.

Whoa.. thats a completely different version than i have SlugBug. Im currently using the Console client because the GUI Client wont istall. Precisely as you said, it has expired so i went with the console.
Where did u get that GUI Client? I would love a copy of that!

Nevermind.. didnt realize that was FahMon.
Alright so its running, FahMon is great and it seems that everything is going good! The only thing i still dont like is having to keep the cmd prompt open where fah.exe is running. Is there any way to close it?

So then i do have to keep the console open continuously? Oh well i guess i can deal with that. Hopefully i'll be able to keep my average at 1760 pts per 24hrs now, assuming my computer stops crashing..

From what I've been reading about the SMP client, it performs even better with a 64bit Linux OS. I might install it on another partition to test it.

Let me know how it works out slugbug. A pity I can't run 64 bit on this computer, but it would be useful to know whether or not it makes a difference for a future build.

Definately post your results. Ive always been curious which performs better.
Also, i just remembered that i have an oly 2.2ghz celeron.. would it be worth my time to get it out and start it running F@H?
