Ok so "my" geforce 6800xt my friend is taking back after he lent it. Well I am bidding on an X1650pro 512mb DDR2 on ebay to replace it. I was just wondering if it will have equal performance to the 6800xt in games?
Also do these run folding at Home well? My Nvidia card wasnt able to run it so that is why I am going with an ATI card this time.
Thanks....

well hopefully I get this cheap off ebay. It will be half what a 8600 cost. Also I want to F@H on the card which the 8600 doesnt do.
I just need this as a replacement card till late summer.

The thing with Ebay is most of the time you dont know what your getting. This card could be dead once you get it actualy. Maybe somebody on the forums can help you out instead of you taking a risk of buying from Sleezebay. Also, the X1650pro should be alot better than your 6800XT. If you can get an X1650XT with GDDR3. That will be worth the purchase.

well I have bought many used parts off ebay without a problem so until I come across a problem I will continue to put my trust into buying off ebay. The seller also has 250 feedback at 100% positive.
I am actually more interested in F@H on this video card and would actually not mind a 5% decrease in performance if it allows me to help our team out. I am going to try and get this card for around $35 shipped and it would also give me a temp card until I can afford something better.
Can I use two X1650s in my SLI motherboard but not use Crossfire? Just where I can run F@H on each of them and then just use one for gaming?

Yea i believe you can have both cards setup as individual use with no X-Fire. And the X1650pro is better than your 6800XT but the X1650XT is alot better if you can find that in your price range.

Ok thanks. I will probably just end up getting the pro because I dont like spending more than I have to. For $35 I cant complain about what I am getting.

well I ended up getting a X1600xt 256mb because I was outbidded on the pro and would not go higher.
This is the card I bought

It seems decent and is basically the same thing except on a 90nm die and DDR3.

And those things make all the difference between the 2 cards. Youll see a bigger improvement over your 6800XT that way. Just dont expect to play things like Crysis on decent settings :/
