I purchased this setup

750W cooler master PSU
xfx 780i SLI motherboard
xfx 8800 GTS 512 mb video card

I turn on my new computer for the first time and notice I'm not getting any video. I see the post code FF and lights on my mobo.

Confused, I pack up my tower and head to the store. They promptly prove to me the system works. Shocked i return home and once again I'm stuck

I have a WestestingHouse monitor LCM-19v1 SL. It only has VGA input. So I am using a DVI-VGA adapter that came with my card. No video

The kicker is I can use this SAME vGA/DVI cable with my old computer with the same monitor and it works fine

BTW, my new computer I oly have a USB keyboard and USB mouse. Only difference between myself and the store is I am using USB equipment. They are using PS/2 equipment

I'm really stuck any ideas? Could it be this DVI adapter to VGA just wont work with my monitor? Would a USB only keyboard & mouse not enable my new system to bootup?

Need advice

did u plug 12v power for your xfx 8800 gts ,no usb stuff dont matter for your problem u need to power off first floppy then dvd drive maybe somewhere shortcircut in your psu try to power off one component at a time and then power on pc and u should find what is your problem that was happenning to me when i first turn on my new pc ,and my psu got shortcirkut protection and one of two floppy power connectors was shortcirkuting my psu, use vga to dvi connector that u get with your grafick card and orginal cable that came with your monitor
