Has anyone heard if anyone is going to build a chipset that will support SLI on the AM2+ platform? I am planning on upgrading in the near future, but I am an old AMD/Nvidia fan. I would like to continue this route as AMD procs are cheaper at this time and Nvidia GPU is the King of the Hill when it comes to video.

Asus M2N-SLI supports AM2+ CPUs & SLI.
You can check about the specification here :- http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=149&l3=625&l4=0&model=1854&modelmenu=1

I looked at the specs. It states it will run the AM2+, but at what HTS. It shows the Hyper Transport @ 1000 where the the 770/790X/790FX runs at 2600. Will this be running a a crippled speed?
I am hoping to see some new technology to take advantage of the AM2+'s full specs and not a short term band aid fix. I only upgrade every two or three years and pass my old computer down to the wife and kids. My current machine is almost two years old, my wife's computer is 4 years old and my kids computers are 5 and 6 years old.

You will only see AMD chipsets with AM2+. If you want SLI with AM2 youll have to do like me and get an nForce 590SLI chipset.
