This ois actually not my computer. this is my freinds computer, which worked fine.
When i ordered the boot sequence to have the cd boot before hdd, it told me to restart. so i did.
when i tried to boot it i get the "the bios has recovered from some error, or has been flashed. Pleas preform a hard reset and reboot."
So i did. Then, when i rebooted, fans whired, the power lights when on on the mother board (blue and amber) the cpu fans go, the cd drive and hard drive spins up, but there is not display.
now would be a good time to point out that if i let it sit...it juststays on forever...no automatic reboot/power downs
Now i havebuilt many computers and and i have found that when there is a problem it i usually best to limit the numbers of variables 1 by 1. i have also learned to research before hand (had to learn that one the hard way lol).
so i trolled some forums for this error, and found many posts which had many fixes.
The first thing i did (after checking monitor conections, swaping dvi ports and rudimentary settings) was to remove a stick of ram. that seemed to work for many of you. didn't work for me.
The next thing i did was flip the cmos reset jumper, and left the ramstick out. It again did not work.
then I removed the power cord and battery andlet it sit for 20 minutes. apon "boot" i had not display, not post showing, no flash screens. just the monitor reading no signal input.
the last thing i did was try starting the pc without the cooling fan (being worried about the temp i only let this boot for 10 sec.) still no sign of a display.
then I remembered that this had happened with my other computer. I then powered down the rig, and unplugged it, removed the video card. booted the computer and let it sit for two minutes. I shut it down, replaced the video card and booted it again. still no display.
i am really desperate, since i have completely exhausted all the things i read that should've worked.
could someone please help me, i think that the motherboard isn't recognizing the video card, which i think strange, because it ran fine before.
Help I am at wits end here. please get back to me as soon as you can.
