Alright, the install went very well. It didn't take long, and it worked successfully the first time.

I havent really seen any differences, but it seems as if Vista is maybe.. MAYBE a little faster.

Ive had it since Jan actualy. It makes no difference in game performance at all. So makes no matter to me.

What part of Kansas? I was born in Topeka and spent 20 years in Manhattan.

Thanks for the info/lin, alfhenrik! I also didn't know it was released already for download also for the 64-bit version.

Since I'm currently using the Ultimate 64-bit version, I'll go download it right away. I think I'll install it in the next few days and I'll report to you my findings...;-)

I just hope I'll see any improvements. And yeah, I know, I'm not expecting miracles and I know Vista isn't gonna "fly" after the installation...

EDIT:

For some reason, I don't see the SP1 on my "Windows update"?#$?!?

It just showed me the KB937287, which I installed just now.

After reading about it, I understood that it is a prerequisit to SP1, so I'll try checking for updates after a reboot and hopefully I'll see the SP1 update available this time...

I'll keep you updated...

EDIT2:

After a reboot, I'm still getting a message the Windows is "up-to-date" and no updates are available, except the "Optional" DreamScene and the Language Packs. That's STRANGE!!! :jawdrop: I might be doing something wrong...I don't know...:???:

Anyhow...I guess I'll just wait for the "Official" "Customer's SP1 Update" to be released on mid March.

Thanks anyway...:icon_tiphat:

You're probably not doing anything wrong...it seems Microsoft "released" the SP1 to the public by "mistake", it was supposed to only be released to their more "technically advanced" testers...

I'd take a stab at if it weren't for the thread right underneath this one about Vista SP1 breaking some programs

If you are using any of the programs on the list, check with the creators as they may have updated versions of the software that will 'un-break' them in Vista SP1...as I am not using any of the software on the list I'm not too worried...
