hi there,

im having problems with my videocard. i bought a 8600gts xxx to play graw. when i open the game, in the menu it shows 730 fps, but after i click on something else such as "options" then go back to menu, frps go down to 450... now, i had a 8500gt before, and in most servers , i would get from 40 to 60 fps. this video card is supose to be better and a lot faster, but i get as much fps as the old 8500gt or lower.... so in other words im not sure its working at full performance. any ideas how to fix this? i downloaded lastest drivers 169.21 for this videocard from nvidia but didnt seem to fix the problem :(.

now on graw two the "graphic driver version" it say i have a 69.21 and that i need one of 93.71 or higher... now im i missing something here?

OK,
FPS in a MENU doesn't mean anything.
Did you uninstall your old driver before putting this card in? Then did you put on the new driver?

What applications are you running? Try using 3dmark06 if you are looking for an easy way to compare the performance of the two video cards. You can find the free version at www.futuremark.com. Also get the latest drivers from www.nvidia.com to ensure the best performance.

Ok, to start things off, MENU fps means nothing, because its not rendering any 3D. So now what you want to do is update your drivers.

1. Go to Nvidia's website and download the latest drivers
Windows XP (169.21) (http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_169.21_whql.html)
Windows Vista (169.25) (http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_174.16.html)

2. Uninstall the old nvidia drivers
3. restart, and then install the newly downloaded ones (169.21)
4. Try, playing games
