Hi all!

I just wanted to share with you that I've just quit today from my work.

As some of you already know, I've been working for the past 5 years in a company that deals with Automatic Optical Inspection of Printed Circuit Boards.

Since in the recent 1.5 years, I felt I'm "stuck" and not going to get a promotion nor a significant increase in my salary :frown:, I started looking for a new job.

Today, I've signed a contract in a company that deals with Non-Contact 3D Measurement, mainly for the Car Industry. They develop and manufacture Optical Systems that scan Auto Parts (Doors, Trunk...) and finds defects on them and measures them. ;-)

So among their customers are a lot of Car Manufacturers, such as GM, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, BMW, Sang-Yong, Yamaha, Daihatsu, Honda, Toyota, Nissan and the list goes on and on...

I'm still obligated to work in my current company for the next 5 weeks, but starting from April 1st, I'll start working for the new company!!!

You're welcome to share with me your thoughts, questions and/or just to WISH ME LUCK!!! :icon_tiphat:

Thanks!!! Yes, there IS a significant raise in the salary as well...
Oh. dont you think that 5weeks gonna be a long time.
I'm pretty sure those 5 weeks will "fly", especially since I'm going to include a 2-weeks vacation during those 5 weeks, as I have spare FREE days I gotta spend that I can't "pass" to my new workplace...;-)
Also are you staying in Isreal or coming back to the states?
Unfortunately, I'm not going back to the states...:frown:

I'm not sure if you remember Scott, but I'm originally from Israel and have Israeli citizenship. I just relocated to the states for 2 years and that got back to Israel and had some "business" trips from time to time.

I guess I'll have some "business" trips in my new workplace as well, but it'll be less often, about 3-4 times a year, for a duration of 7-10 days each time. I guess it'll be mainly to Europe, USA, a little bit to China and might be even to...BRAZIL! :-D

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR GREETINGS!!! :icon_tiphat:

Congratulations on getting a better job with better career opportunities! I, myself are looking for a better job with better salary and career options as I am currently stuck doing *stupid* technical support when I should be doing web development!!

Anyways, no thread jacking here, again congrats on your new job!

Thanks!!! It's definitely a GREAT job with better opportunites.

The only problem is that it's a little bit far from where I live (100Km in each direction) so I'll be spending about 1.5 hours driving in each direction EVERY DAY!!! And currently I'm not thinking about moving to a new apartment/house...:frown: But who knows??? If I'll like my new work and stick with it I might think in the future about moving...

Congratulations on your new job Zachig. I bet your wife is happy. Sorry to rush you so much, but any news about expanding your family a bit if you are going to make more money now? I bet you know what I mean. ;) Sorry if this is a personal question, you don't have to answer if you don't wish.

Thanks my friend! I already got the job and like I said before, I already signed the contract the will start working there starting April 1st.

I guess I WILL travel aboard, but it'll be on a less frequent basis that I was used to in my current job. I guess it'll be like 3-4 times a year at max...;-)

Ouch, I'm lucky, I'm just 20 minutes from work which is nice...I'm able to get some extra sleep, if it wasn't for the 6 month old baby sleeping next to me and my wife

Yeah, I'm also situated now about 25 minutes from work. I hope I'll get used to it, to drive every day 1.5 hours in each direction. And when I'll have kids, I think I'll go crazy...but, I guess I won't have any choice and I'll get used to it eventually...

The thing is that I'll probably won't have too much time to post here at Bjorn3D during day-time at work like I'm used too... :frown:, At least not in the first few months or first year, till I'll get to know each one and "prove" myself...;-)

Congrats man on the new job and salary. Hopefully it is a high enough salary because that 1.5 hours of driving each way will wear you down. That's three hours a day of wasted time unless you take some audio lessons in the vehicle to maximize your time expenditure. I had a few jobs in which I had to travel and at first I thought it was alright but in the end it was not. It's a lot of driving and a lot of wear and tear on your vehicle and as well the fuel too. Hopefully your salary makes up for all this. Best of luck to you and hopefully you move up quick in the company.

My new salary is about 60% (!!!) :ahhhhh: higher than my current one , but...I have to pay for the leasing car. :frown:

I'll probably be getting the new Hyundai i30 and it'll be with unlimited fuel up to 45000KM a year, so this should cover my fuel expenses over the year.

But, after the car expenses, since I'm acutally "paying" for the leasing car, the remained salary will be around 15%-20% higher than what I'm getting now. ;-)

And yeah...I'm afraid those rides will wear me down in the long-run :frown:, but I'm feeling I've got to give it a chance.
And if I'll feel after sometime that it's really hard for me, I'll leave and move to another workplace.
At least I'll know I did "something" by leaving my current workplace, where I'm feeling I'm getting no-where for more than a year now...:icon_frown:

Good to know that you won't have to travel that frequently in your new job & you'll be able to spend quality time with your wife & also you will be able to involve in something, which will bring a few or lots of little cute Zachigs.

Best of luck for your future career & with your planning of expanding your family.

Grats on 60% raise in income! You will enjoy your new job, nothing sucks more then having a job, but never moving up the chain. You will get used to the drive, first time I drove up to MD by myself it was horrible, but now it is nothing. Having a great highway car helps; if you have a bad car you will just get worn out.

60% on my income is still $0... But hey, that is more then Ford Motor Company! (They had negative income)

Again, THANK YOU ALL for your greetings and support!!! :thumleft:

And thanks Miker for cheering me up regarding the long-way I'll have to drive everyday. Hopefully I'll get used to it and won't wear me down...

Good to know. Hope this is for the better.

Just not too crazy about that April 1st Job Initiation. :dielaffin:
Thanks! ;-) And you know what? Right after I signed the contrast. my soon-to-be direct boss told me: "Hey, just don't you fool us on April 1st, ah?"
