K, so this is how it goes. I bought a new computer from Tigerdirect and set it all up, and then installed everything hardware and software-wise after starting it up. Now, everything was running fine, until I tried to overclock my processor.
I have an Intel C2D E2180, and seeing how much overclocking it can take on stock fans and standard voltage, I decided to give it a shot. So, I go into BIOS, and set the QDR FBS to 825 and the CPU multiplier to 8x, with the 'Linked' Setting for the RAM. Everything was working fine, so by reading everyone's FSB settings (which were all the way up to 1200+) I decided to up it to 850. Everything, again, seemed fine, until I upped it to 875 Mhz. When I restart the comp, it says that the CPU was flashed, and requires a hard reboot. So I did, and after that, everything went down the crapper.
The green, amber and blue lights turn on, and all the fans turn on, but there is no image whatsoever outputted to the monitor. I can't even get to BIOS. Also, in the front of the computer, the hard drive indicator light is a solid light, but the power indicator light is off. It's getting pretty irritating, seeing that I didn't even get close to what other people got with their computers, and yet it killed itself, and also that I just got the computer too. I know a few people have experienced the same problem, but I tried everything I can think of: inputting a lower voltage memory stick, removing the CMOS battery to erase the BIOS, and re-seating everything in the computer. If anyone has any, and I mean ANY information as to what I can do, it'd be really appreciated. Here is my setup:
XFX nforce 680i LT SLI motherboard
Intel C2D E2180 2.0 Ghz 800 Mhz CPU
OCZ Platinum Rev 2 2048 MB DDR2 Dual Channel Memory
Seagate 250GB SATA Hard Drive
2x XFX Geforce 8600 GT XXX Edition PCI-e Video Card
Ultra 750W SLI-Certified Power Supply
