Hello,

I am having alot of problems with my 7900GT, but after reading some of the posts on here, they do not seem to be unheard of.

I have already subbmitted a ticket, which the number is - 141039.

The basic problems are the artifacts and polygon tearing. The main issue is about five minutes past the artifacts - games (TF2 & CoD4 for example) will flicker to a black screen, hang, then loop the audio continuously until it either clears up, or crashes to the nv4_disp.dll loop blue screen. Which happens often.

I bought the card a little under a year ago, and have always had the artifact problem but it was not that noticeable. Recently it has gotten much worse, and has been crashing without fail even after a fresh reinstall along with trying various "fixes" and tweaks to the card settings.

I am honestly at a loss. Short of mailing it in a coffin box ..in pieces ...j/k

Any help would be great!

What you need to do is lower the speed of the graphics card to determine if its the overclock that is causing the lock-ups or some other component of the video card.

Download either ATiTool or Rivatuner and adjust the clocks of the Core and memory down a bit to see if it clears the problem up.

Try 50MHz on the Core and 100MHz on the Mem and report back.

He meant lower it by that much, not set it at that.

Can you tell us your full system specs and idle / full load temp?

Thanks for all the help. I should have come here the first time instead of posting on /g/ @ 4chan..

I just got an RMA but I would like to try out the Rivatuner.

It was suggested that I go ahead and send it in to get the card tested. I have been told alot of PV-T71G-UDE7 cards have been labeled as defective.

I also made an error in my first post. It has been almost two years since I bought the card. My bad for not getting on this sooner, heh.

Card is currently running at 520core and 750mem.

Thanks again for the help.

Still same problem with different settings.
