That is a VGA cooler, not a chipset cooler?

Also, I am not a fan of Thermaltake... They use cheap fan motors and cheap plastic.

As Miker said, that's not a chipset cooler...that's a GPU cooler.

I'd rather buy a Zalman or Arctic Cooling than Thermaltake...they're rubbish IMO.

I second that opinion. Zalman would be my number one chose, arctic cooling number 2.

the cooler he pointed at is 40 bucks, my thermalright hr-05 IFX cost about that, and we dont even know if he is looking for a graphic or motherboard solution.....

Very true, and I also have the Thermalright HR-05 NB cooler...and CPU cooler... They make awesome products, I was thinking about getting the HR-03 as well for my 88GT but when the AC Accelero S1 is such a bargain and plays in the same performance field as the HR-03 I went with the Accelero S1.

Every Thermalright thing I have ever gotten is cheap, overpriced and made with cheap plastic.

How do you figure? Most Thermalright ive seen is made of pure metal.

I have two big chunks of metal from Thermalright.

try something made for today's computers please....
I dont know about their past, but as of now, thermalright makes good heatsinks.
The thermalright ultra extreme is considered one of the best dual core and quad core air cooler. (Among enthusiasts whith RECENT hardware)

I know its not a motherboard chipset cooler. I just wanted to cut down on confusing since they label it as a chipset cooler.

When I'm not using water (leak testing), I use the Thermalright 120 ultra, for air it's fantastic. And totally steel.

I had them confused with Thermaltake... >_<

And I got one, yay  just need to swap out the TRU120 and install that in my other machine (running stock C2D cooler, noisy)...and yes, they are the best air cooler around pretty much...although the Tuniq Tower and Thermaltake Big Typhoon VX (or whatever it's called) are up there too...

Back on topic, what do you plan on cooling?

For chipsets, Thermalright HR-05 IFX are great if you have the space.

For video, it all depends on what you have, if its an 8800GT/GTS, then Thermaltake Duorb, if its an 8800GTX, then Thermalright HR-03.

I labeled it as chipset cooler because it is a VGA chipset cooler but i guess people didnt read and get that. I did want to use one on a GTS 512 but i hear that the 9800 GX2 will be around 500 so im gonna wait and see on that.

Good idea, with the new cards coming out, waiting for a little while after they are released is a very good idea.

Thermaltake has let me down multiple times.

Last time I used them, I found their power supply did not put out stable power on one of the rails.

Personally I have a Thermaltake TR2 M12 running my prescott 3.0E OC'd to 3.4ghz load tested it for 24 hrs and max temp was 44'c

Sorry for hijacking the thread.

80w peltier on inverted heatpiped chipsets in an average 50c loop > All

590sli barely breaks 30c.

9-series is just 7-series all over again. I'll pass.

Everyone is confusing Thermalright with Thermaltake - Just remember to 'TAKE out the TRASH'.

The stock cooler on the 8800GTS 512 is superior. You need the RAMDAC/FETT/Memory cooling. That also says GTS/GTX, meaning 90nm chips, meaning it won't fit your GTS 512 65nm anyway.
