Now it's confirmed: Assassin's Creed will support Direct X 10 in the PC variant. But you won't see any visual difference between DX9 and DX10. Assassin's Creed solely uses the shader model 4 so that performance gains are realistic.
Assissin's Creed faster in DX10 than in DX9 (http://www.pcgameshardware.de/aid,633655/News/Assassins_Creed_DX10_confirmed_faster_than_DX9/)

He is comparing DX10 in Vista vs DX9 in Vista.
DX9 in XP most likely still wins.

Yes, but you can't really compare DX10 to DX9 in Vista...although they did say that you wouldn't see any benefits in 'prettiness' in DX10 v. DX9...so it might not matter :)

DX9 works in Vista. They are just saying the game runs best in DX10, in Vista, compared to DX9 in Vista, but doesn't look any different. DX9 in XP is still most likely 10% faster.

Yes, I agree that XP will most likely be faster (as it is in most, if not all, cases), but as I am running Vista I'll be running it in DX10 mode

If there is no extra eye candy for DX10 i bet DX9 in XP is faster than DX10 in Vista. Just a hunch cause Vista is teh slowness.

I would've worded it...
Vista is the Sh*t.
But as a educated person saying that. So sh*t doesn't mean the best. it means, sh*t.

Thanks for the info and interesting read/comparison alfhenrik! :icon_tiphat:
I'm soooooo looking forward this game (the PC version, of course) and hopefully I won't get dissapointed. I can't wait anymore and I really hope it won't get posponed anymore, as at first is was scheduled to be released for PC on March 15, then...March 26 and now...April 8. :frown:

Zachig, I played the PS3 version and LOVED LOVED LOVED it.
I asked it to marry me but it never responded. :frown: Oh well.
You'll love the game I think. If you're like me and morbidly enjoy sneaking around and slipping a sharp blade deep into a stranger's body severing multiple arteries resulting in almost immediate death.
There is no smiley face in a straight jack to include at the end of that sentence.

Thanks!!! I really hope I'll like it...
I kinda DISLIKE game that require sneaking around and avoiding getting detected, like Splinter Cell and such. I guess they're just too difficult for me and I'm losing patience easily.
I'm pretty sure I'll like Assassin's Creed, as long as it won't be to hard for me, even if it means I'll have to play at the easiest levle...
It'll definitely attract me regarding its AMAZING Graphics and INTERESTING Historical Story.
