I just got my system set up, and I have 2 EVGA 8800 GT cards in it,one in slot 1 and the other in slot5. I am trying to configure SLI, but the second card (Slot 5) is not being detected, but when I go to hardware manager it says that the one card that is being detected is in Slot 5, but my monitor is hooked up to the Slot 1 card.Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

Do you have the SLI bridge connected?

Did you uninstall your old display drivers before installing these two cards?

Most likely he 780i board since he said he has "one in slot 1 and the other in slot5".

I have the 780i, and I just built the PC, so there are no old display drivers.I am having trouble understanding why my PC would say my card is in slot 5 when it is clearly slot 1 even though I took out the other card.

Take one card out and remove all nvidia drivers, then run driver cleaner, reboot and run driver cleaner in safe mode. Shut the PC down, remove the one video card, unplug the power, reset cmos through cmos reset pin, or removing the battery for a minute. Replace battery, put one card in slot one, boot and check to see which slot it reads, do not install drivers yet.

Shut down, install other card, install bridge, boot, install drivers.

Check bios to make sure SLI is enabled.

Try booting up your computer with only one video in slot 1 and then do the same but with slot 3 and slot 5.
