Remember my posts back in November about us retiring the sound and lights business? Well its official now and there isnt a thing i can do about it. I just started a little band and got them comfortable with practicing here (im teaching them how to play so with my dad being here its intimidating and its bad enough with just me to them) and my dad and sister are tearing down the PA right now to have it sold within the week. All that gear is like my big kid. Its all ive ever really known for about half my life. Its about to all be gone. I even had a load of parties lined up to DJ for spring break and the summer all over the metroplex. My awesome sound system in my room is gonna take a hike cause he said hes selling the 2 towers as well.

Wanna know the worst part about all this? The end of november he told me its all mine i can do what i want with it. They get into a little jam and all of a sudden MY gear has to take a hike. Its rediculous.:frown:

That's really said and I can feel your pain...:frown:

But listen, NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS!!! I'm pretty sure that if you'll not give up and will want it so much, you'll do it eventually!!! REMEMBER THIS!!!

Cheer up and think positive!!! ;-)

ALL THE BEST!!! :icon_tiphat:

I did. I told them that its supposed to be mine and all my dad did was stare at my and ask do i like living in this house? If not then you can take you and your PA and find your own house to keep it in. If so, then its gotta leave so we can keep it.

I personaly think that was a very low blow and i could have retaliated but there was no point. And Zach i most deff will have most all of this back in no time except in a newer form. I need it all before spring break at the least. I just gotta stay positive enough to do that.

I have a nice older set of traynor cs-115h speakers man Im looking to get rid of. No idea if it would be feasible to ship the things even but you can have em. They are in perfect working order just dont have an amp anymore.

Lol thanx for the offer Tyler but im talking about professional audio gear here. The stuff you see at major concerts. For example heres a few pics of whats being sold. This was all in our house neatly organized. We have alot more too this is just what i have on my phone still.

LMAO!!!! The Traynors are proffesional. Much nicer speaks then any of the ones in that pic actually! mind you im sure all together they are much louder!!
I originally bought them off a band actually. I will dig em up and post some pics later so you can see what im talking about, but they run a 15" sub with a 3x9 neodymium cones each, things just scream!!

I used to run them with a set of 18" cerwin subs, could easily power a 20,000 square foot hall.

DUde, you need to take a look at whats there. First off, the JBL TR225s in the second pic have 2 250watt 15" speakers and a 1" horn. We ran with those and those Cerwin Vegas (Cerwins arent running stock speakers, we have 3200watt Peavey Low Riders in them 18") Thats about 500 watts a cab with the JBLs, we have 2 a side. 4 total.

The Peavey DTH's (The kinda bad looking ones in the first pic with the blue) have a 4" horn driver in them. You dont get any better than that. The 15's in them are 600 watt Black Widows. The black cabinets, are a Sound Bridge cabinet. 2 15's are 500 watt a piece. They used to be in my room for years :(

Lol, we run all professional gear ;) In the sound business, you cant take the looks of the cabinet and make judgement. Its whats inside that counts. Most of our cabinets say JBL on them for the name, but the speaker is actualy a better Peavey speaker. Like the Cerwin Vegas the stock 18 in them are like 450watt RMS if that. We put Peavey Low Riders which are 1600watt RMS. Makes a big difference. And JBL dual 18 SRX cabs are stock. About the only thing we didnt change at all.

but they run a 15" sub with a 3x9 neodymium cones each, things just scream!!Yea we have 2 JBL's with a single 15 and a horn in them. We have 600watt JBL SRX speakers in them and we mount them on trees for like what we call "church" gigs.

Well that is a pretty powerful setup!! Most guys i know dont keep the original speakers in the boxs either! a good box is a good box! blow the sub and replace with something better.
Just dont call my traynors "unproffessional" j/k!
subs in my Traynors are 300watts a piece, not original either. not sure what the cones are. they are original i believe.

... you have heard of traynor right...?
something makes me think they are alot bigger in canada

Yea i have. You have to realize what i call "professional". You cant take a single 15 and a horn to a show like this.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v701/pp_mguire/110307_23531.jpg

I would use something like those for sidefill monitors on stage (which are actualy usualy bigger cabs) Or hanging top fill. The DJ shows i have coming up which i apparently have to buy all new *cough pawn shop* for ill most likely be buying a pair of those JBL Dual 18 SRX subs and some Peavey Flo-Wav tops. Thats enough getty up and go for any kinda of big or small party.

Oh and i totaly forgot to mention.
The pic with the lineup, on the end are JBL 838s (top) and 8818s (bottom). Bottom is a sigle front mount 18" 800watt Black Widow, and the top is 18" 800watt black widow, 250watt 10" Scorpion, 1" horn. Remember, this isnt all we have. Just what i have in pics.

Well of course your not only going to take a couple 15" to a concert LOL
heck, I used more then just them when i DJed school dances!

I would use something like those for sidefill monitors on stage
Exactly why i was offering them up!! lol you can never have to many filler speakers.

Did you tell them you had all those parties planned and that they were paying gigs? It seems like an odd idea to me to sell your tools when you know they are going to pay for themselves or make you money in the long run.

Can't your dad sell your sister to a cleaning company or something? :)

Ive been doing this business with him for over 6 years and hes been in the sound and lights business since 83. He cant really do anything because he wants to stay home with mom. Hes had offers from MANY different big bands (Skid Row, Warrent, Jackyl, Metallica, A7X, you get the picture) to go touring with them and run sound at the big venues. Thats all fine and dandy but he really wanted to do that stuff for me. Im basicly his crew. When he talks about his crew hes talking about me. Since i cant og and make money with him he dosent wanna leave here.

Yea weve made alot of money, but we've also lost our butts too. You get screwed over ALOT and most of the time it was just our truck eating a hole in our pocket cause of gas.
Yea i can go and make a few benjs (raves make 1000+ though) but thats not the same as 25k solid in one pop. And he already mentioned probably going out and buying some brand new gear for us here at the house. Yay.

Hmmm ok then... Maybe it will all work out in the end, good luck!

I think that's why I'll never have kids, I'm such a selfish old *******. :) I'd buy them a Wii just so I can play on it. :)

My dad bought my Guitar Hero 3 and he plays on it more than me lol. Its ok though.

Yea we where talking last night about this and he said not to worry about it. When i was working on his PC this morning i saw a copy of a ticket written out from Mr E's. (We both have our own Pro discounts there) and i saw some very nice hardware on it.

5000watt American DJ amp paired with 2x JBL front loaded dual 18" SRX subs
(He kept our best amp) Hes getting the Peavey Flo Wavs to go with that amp we kept. So basicly, the things i was going to buy looks like he has the ticket written up with our guy to buy for himself. If i get my own that will be a matched system all the way accross. Hmmm makes me wonder if he reads these forums......
