Well k so i have a P4 3ghz and I was looking into a new Cpu to upgrade my comp, to go with my p5n-d motherboard, XFX 8800gt xxx, OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 ram, and new hard drive which is 500GB Seagate(i think). I got a TX-650 psu running these also with 4 fans. So i was looking into getting a quad core for around 300-450. What should i get? I also need a great cpu cooler since i will be overclocking or should i stay with the stock cooler?
If anyone could help out thx.
Oops title mistake supposed to be "Which Cpu should I get"

Well if you don't want to wait for the 45nm Quads then you don't really have much of a choice with that budget...Q6600 cost $260, you could also go the new E8xxx series (not quad though)...they have excellent overclocking potential...then you can buy the Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme which is one of the best (air) coolers around...

if you can wait till april, then go for the q9450. If not q6600 is the best option at the moment for quad core.

If you don't want to wait, the Q6600 will do you good. It's not a night and day difference between q6600 and q9450.
