I vote for MSi. Every MSi board I've ever owned has either failed or had some sort of cheap failure.

MSI worst overall. ABIT still ranks #1 worst for support.

My file server has an MSI mobo in it right now. It's been running solid 24/7 since 2003.

I vote for PCChips as the worst.

MSI mobos with a good chipset are good, but some of the VAI ones are just horrible.

I'd say neck and neck tie with PcChips and ECS.

You can see the ranking of a lot of common motherboards over here:

http://www.motherboards.org/ranking/motherboards/Intel7752007/

Asus seems to have the most rankings.

I would easily say MSI.
Ive had a few ECS boards.
The K7S5A.
One of thew most popular boards back in the days from ECS.
And a C19A SLI which was a great board too.

I say MSI because ive had so many problems with one of their boards.
It would not support AGP 8X back in the days.
Unstable and discusting board.
Dont remember which one it was though sadly...

So my vote goes for MSI.
You should make a poll :)

The worst boards I ever had was SOYO. Their tech support was so bad (while the board was in warranty) that I filed a complaint with the BBB. I even got contacted by the California Attn General's office regarding a class action suit against SOYO.

Ive had a few ECS boards.
The K7S5A.This was my first Socket A board. I had a 950 Duron in it that i OCed straight to 1.35ghz. My vote goes to ECS boards becasue every single time somebody around here gets one they crap out.

My Soyo Dragon Ultra PE was pretty nice.
My nF2 Ultra Shuttle board was nice.
Every Abit/Asus board ive come across has failed.

Only thing ill ever buy brand new is DFI.

I do dislike ASUS now too.
Ive had 2 striker extremes die on me.
Im up to my third one.
Im RMAing the defective one soon and ill probably sell it.
150 or 200 or something or just make another computer with it.

I actualy have had a couple really good old P3 MSI boards. My vote goes to Evga... never had anything that worked right from Evga.

Well I would have to say Asus boards with a Via chipset. Asus is the only boards I buy so from my own personal experience that is the only one's I can comment on. Every motherboard I have had was really good and never had a failure. The only problem was OC'ing on a Via chipset which is damn near impossible without it going crazy.

The worst board is only as bad as the experience you had with them and for me I had problems with an ePoX(VIA) and XFX(650i) motherboard.

I had an ECS P4S5A and for some reason they didn't deem it necessary to put a 12v aux power connector on the board. It only had the standard 20pin ATX power connector. Needless to say it wasn't too stable with a P4.

I've built hundreds....mostly Intel except for home. I have used Abit, Asus and Gigabyte for home use. Last several years I think Asus has gone down in the dumps so my vote would be for Asus. Now that Asus & Gigabyte have joined....guess there goes Gigabyte too!

This board is my first XFX and so far very happy!

I vote Asus as the #2 worst. I went to CES in '07 and met the people at Asus. They struck me as really uppity and they acted like everything they make (or brand shall I say?) was the best. Based on that firstly, I would have to say that I dont like them. They're not human.

As for their quality, it's overpriced and mediocre.

I'd say ECS in first place...:frown:

I also think that in recent one or two years, ASUS Q.A went down...and Abit mobos are so-so...

I personally think that MSI and EVGA made a huge progress and have quite good boards, among with XFX. And DFI are still the best I think...

I hate how you call for support at Abit and not only do they transfer you and you wait for another 30 mins to get to sumone you get a message all the sudden that the people you need to talk to are in a meeting...wtf

some support (curses loudly)

We got an Abit MoBo and after hours of installing everything find out the comp wont boot past the windows screen and shuts down. Thinking its ram after many tests of other things we buy new ram only to find out it still dont work. So now we have to take the whole thing apart agian and rma it to abit for a replacement. God knows how long that will take. This is so fu**ed up Im telling you it totally killz the buzz of having a new comp right.

Because of this my man says he dont reccomend me getting the same board no more, not that I blame him.

I will weigh in with an Asus A7V with Via chipset. About the only good thing I can say about the board is that it kept my feet warm in the winter. I have never purchased another Asus product since.

Got to love those damn Via chipsets huh.

Idk any one ive ever had was rock solid. They cant OC but ive never had a problem with one. Make for a nice board to place in a case and let it sit there without worrying about it ****ing up real bad later on from god knows what.

I vote for PcChips...

They made the worst motherboard I've ever had. However, it is very hard to vote for PcChips...

Why?

I'm glad you asked...

If you've ever had a PcChips mobo, you probably did not know it. They usually had no identifying marks, no numbers what so ever.

You had to go out to Wim's Bios site and look up the boot screen identifier code to find out who made the motherboard.

That alone gives them my vote...

PP Mguire,
My first two builds were AMD based. I loved my first Athlon (1GHZ), a bit hot, but a tremendous chip nonetheless. IMHO, Intel is not at this level of processor development without AMD. Competition, competition, competition.
