Just wanna see who all is cool enough to have a tattoo hehe jking but who does have one I wanna see :) Stories on them is encouraged too

This was my second tattoo, I got it in march of 2006 when I was in Memphis. Really I was going to the zoo but I never made it cause I ended up getting this instead. I wanted a tattoo of a maple leaf to represent me being Canadian but I didnt want the red maple leaf like everyone else. After a month of searching I found an artist I loved and well it worked out great! It took 2.5 hrs and 160 bucks (he gave me a very good deal) I didnt bleed hardley at all infact I took the bandage off about an hour after so I could go into a japanese kabuki in my skirt and not look like a fool. I love it and am currently looking for someone to help me design my gaming tattoo I am wanting to do next :)

Oh and Id like to add that over time its gonna be hotter cause the colors will blend and it will officially be a real looking leaf.

Hmmm....well I haven't used my artistic wiles in quite some time, but if you want some ideas I'm up for a challenge. What sort of ideas were you looking into for the next one.

As for me I don't have any tattoos, for no reason in particular. The price is certainly a sticking point, but beyond that it hasn't really come in my list of considerations. Maybe something to think about for the future. Plus I'm young and would rather wait a bit and come up with something that wouldn't look 20 years down the the line. Something with meaning, assuming I was going to do it at all.

I've got a tattoo of a fantasy character on my left arm...got it 7 years ago at a tattoo convention back in Sweden...took ~5 hours to complete and I couldn't feel my arm after it was finished...went out drinking immediately afterwards so that may have had something to do with that the feeling went away...;-)

Im getting this as soon as i get the money to. Its not exaclty on my top prioriety list thouhg.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v701/pp_mguire/061207_17001.jpg

Except the top one is going to be colord in.

The meaning behind it is i have 2 buddies (more like brothers to me) and were each getting this tatt. Each with a different triangle colord in each with their own meanings.

Zelda has always been a big part of my life (the game) and this Tri-Force kinda explains my friendship with them. The game itself even has significant meaning from my childhood. So it makes sense to get this as a tatt. Im getting mine on my left pec. The other 2 one on his arm, and the other on his calf.

I am wating to get a Unreal Tournament based tattoo next. If you go to http://unrealna.net/ basically its the big blue U with the bracets around each end. I would love to have it done in a water theme for example the bracets turned into waterfalls flowing into the design or into a puddle below, rain drops etc I want it to be done in black and grey I think but with blue highlights. Size I am looking at no more than the roundness of lets say a container of icing lid :)

To make a long story short and I will post that soon too cause its a cool story, I met my husband through my online gmaing clan for ut2k4. I have evolved my life around the community and well even with working for e-rev I am still hugely known and I love it. Thsi game has changed my life in so many ways that I think it deserves a spot of skin :) hehe

I do know I dont want it cluttered so when I am old it runs together like a clump!

Holy crap that must be damn awesome. I have three large tattoos myself. Both shoulders and a partial armband. One shoulder was a coverup and is a black panther. The other is a demon with tribal. My partial armband is also a demon with hooks in the skin. I have several piercings as well. Eyebrow (sideways with spikes), several left ear, nipples and lip piercing.

I have a black Dragon on my right shoulder, tail tucking under arm at back, head resting on my collar bone.

Piercings I got shot in the left arm once does that count?:jawdrop:

Do cereal box tattoo's count?

I am not a tattoo person, or a piercing person. And as of like 2 weeks ago I thought spiked hair was stupid.

And as of tomorrow I might have a date with a girl with a tattoo.

Tattoos are cool at the moment, but in 20 years... I just wouldn't ever get one.

Piercings are 100% stupid in my opinion, but I don't go around judging people with them.

All of this is from I guy who never even smoked before in his life, if I want to endanger my life I will just do something that requires a helmet.

Hmmm if you date a girl with a tattoo and things go well, and you end up horizontal wouldn't you be exposing yourself to the same dangers as getting a tat your self?

Piercing really isn't life threatening unless like in my case some one did it with a gun.

Since my tat was done by a nice lady Pharmacist with a new needle, and kept it out of the sun it's really not life threatening. Except when it drives the ladies crazy and they try to pound me through he floor.

Half the fun things I did in life could have potentially killed me. Yet here I am at almost 50 still plugging along. I wouldn't live life worrying about potentially fatal piercings, tattoos, smoking the occasional cigar, or jumping out of a plane.

Your not gonna get out of life alive. Enjoy it go do some thing stupid.

She couldn't make me get a tattoo, and she only has a trampstamp that I know of, and back tattoos last ok. Unlike Slugbug's 78 year old neighbor.

"Horizontal", come on? No imagination?

I said smoking is dangerous, not Tattoos or piercings.

I was watching Tyra Banks show once and there was a doctor who was telling people who would die first etc and well this one girl who believed if she ate right and lived he rlife safe was actually one of the ones who would die first.

We really can die at any time and well I say live life the way you want to and dont judge others on it cause its their own. Just because society says its safer to eat whatever or do whatever there is no telling what oyur body will do or what your fate will bring you in the future.

I also have one other tattoo but I dont have a pic of it I had designed it when I was 9 and wated 10 years to get it. Its is a blue rose with a rain drop falling off a petal of it. I also have a piercing ahem and I am very proud of it and no it didnt hurt, my ears hurt more. I got a vertical hood piercing. I love it alot oh and my ears. I am not sure I am gonna get any more piercings tho. As far as more tattoos go I want many more and all will have a story I am sure however I have realized that the more detailed and small it si the worst its gonna be later.

If you are concerned about all the stories you hear really dont be cause it only happens to people to dont use common sence. Make sure the place is clean and all the needles used are in packaging, normally they open them infront of you. If you feel uncomfortable when you walk in the door dont do it. I am glad I waited at one place and let one girl go ahead of me cause when she walked out I asked to see hers and the lines were no straight and he has put paper towl over it :jawdrop: a big no no. Do your research and ask around. Tattoo is art and not everyone is going to like it the same way you do or appreciate it the way you do. When I am old no matter what it looks like I will still know why I got it and never regret a thing :)

There is one tatoo i am thinking about getting but i will probably have to do it out of state if i ever want to get it done because i will get my *** kicked before i even get it started if my parents find out. Believe me my dad for sure will find out. It is not designed yet i am still looking for the right artist to design it. I have a few people lined up but i am not sure who i am going with yet. After its done it will also be used for my forum sig and a few shirts for myself.

Its a design i have always had in my head but cant get it down on paper the way i want it so i am going to commision some real artists to do it for me. That wont be for a while though i need to get some money saved up first.

LOL, my only argument for comments similar to this is not a comment but a question. Would you really want to look at a 78 year old wrinkly body regardless if it had a tattoo or not? I figure when I get that age it really wont matter too much anyways.

To the smoking comment (im against it too, just making a point) if you where really that anal about it your whole house would be filterd from outside air, and you wouldnt go outside. Think about it for a second.

I agree with Kitten. Lifes to short to worry about BS. Also, if youve ever written on yourself wiht pen before then your doing the same thing as a tattoo. Just the pen isnt permanent but you still take a risk of getting ink poisoning.

Just guessing here but I'm guessing he's more worried about hepatitis than he is about ink poisoning. But if you're smart, its really not to protect yourself. I know if I were planning to get a tattoo I'd certainly check the cleanliness of the shop/sterility of the needles.

Omg I used to write on myself and others all the time and do highlights with pera markers in my hair cause my parents wouldnt let me dye it. You cant get ink poisoning from drawing on yourself unless its a very large amount I mean even if you swallow the ink it takes like 4 pens b4 u actually get enough of the poison in it from the ink to hurt yourself. Just make sure you crap is in a serile package. If its not dont go. Ask them qns ahead of time on how they go about their process and research your findings if you aren't sure.

If the ink gets in your actual blood enough youll get ink poisoning. And since most people bleed while getting a tattoo people get all paranoid and ****.

If the ink gets in your actual blood enough youll get ink poisoning. And since most people bleed while getting a tattoo people get all paranoid and ****.

Most tattoo inks technically aren't inks. They are composed of pigments that are suspended in a carrier solution. Today's pigments primarily are metal salts. However, some pigments are plastics and there are probably some vegetable dyes too. The pigment provides the color of the tattoo. The purpose of the carrier is to disinfect the pigment suspension, keep it evenly mixed, and provide for ease of application. Also a wound that is freely bleeding is more likely to be self cleaning and the artist normally also helps this by rinsing you art frequently with soapy water during the process.

Now if you got health issues and you need to go for scans like an MRI tattoos can cause problems sometimes cause of the metalic fibres found in some tattoo inks, or so I have herd. Like I said research what you are doing even ask if you like what kind of inks etc the artists uses. I feel the more questions you have answered the better off you are. And you know we breathe in deadly toxins just going outside and breathing the air. Perfect example is people say smoking is bad but so is the sun and we still roam around under it for work and for fun. Things are only as bad as you make them out to be. :icon_tiphat:

Tatoos is just like smoking. Peer pressure. You are not doing cause you desire it from your heart. You are doing it because everyone else around you is doing it. Like I remember when I was in school...I really want it one but did not know waht to do, I was confused, so I ended up getting stickers instead.

Stupid, yes but it was a good placebo and it worked.

It is called peer pressure for a good reason and even so If it came down to it I would tell them where to go at that point. If you are dumb enough to fall for that crap then so be it, however most people as far as I am concerned go for very good reasons, normally very personal ones. Both of mine were cause I wanted them and not because I thought they were cool cause not one person i was around even had any. i got mine because I had a story I wanted to share well with my one I posted and it made me feel good about myself. My other one was a representation of myself and who I was. When you look at a painting can you tell the artist that they did it cause of peer pressure, or even a model who is posing for a picture? No it is the way they feel they want to reprsent themselves nothing more nothing less.

Society makes things that are so simple and so minute become such a big deal and if it is not acceptable to the higher standard of living then it is not right at all. What happened to individuality, creativity, freedom of thought and expression? Other countires use the bearing of a tattoo for their own cultural reasons and we don't say its bad. Things that are diffrent to others may not always seem right to them but it doesnt make it wrong. With that I also leave the ideas of also other countires eating things we wouldnt dream of that we find just like tattooing TABOO. :)

Sry went on a rant lol

This is a true story.
When I was 12 I got some india ink, some thread and a needle and sat down planning to tattoo "MOM" on my left arm. I got as far as "M" and stopped....too painful.
I lived with that "M" on my arm until I was 19. At the age of 19 I joined the U.S. Navy and on the way to Desert Storm we made a stop in the Phillipe Islands....Olongapo to be exact.
I mentioned to my fellow shipmates that I planned to get a tat while I was there to cover the "M" on my arm.
Well, I did some drinkin' and the next thing I know I'm waking up in a massage parlor...an up stairs room if you know what I mean. My buddy is standing in the door with his girl under his arm telling me that were late and had to hurry back to the ship.
While running down the streets on Olongapo, hung over, I noticed a bandage on my left arm and blood on my shirt. I asked my buddy and he said that after I passed out, they decided to pick out a tat for me.
Only when I got back to ship did I get a chance to see it. It's a dragon coming out of my skin. Well, that's what it was supposed to be but it turns out the guy that did the tattoo only had three fingers. No one could tell what it was and that was back then in 1990.
Now it has aged and resembles spinach.

I need to get it fixed. Maybe one day.

Ummmm, no. I am the black sheep of my family and have so much independance that I moved out when I was 15 because I did not like the 'house' rules. I was a born leader and always have been. I got my tatoos not from peer pressure at all. I got mine because I was bodybuilding at the time and it was artwork that seem to complete my demeanor and overall look. I love my tats and would gouge someones eyes out with my tongue to save them. They were really well done even though they are aging. I will just have to get them touched up. I don't care what they look like when I am old and wrinkled. Heck wrinkled is not sexy anyway so I don't really care about that. But if these things could talk....Well that's another story!

Methious
03-09-2008, 07:23 PM
Old and wrinkled not sexy, wait til you get there to make that judgment, the older you get the more you wonder why women keep getting more beautiful. The vanity of youth is a fleeting thing, as you age you will see more of the mythical inner beauty of people. Besides as you age men are no longer men their a commodity, and then you might have heard about older women, they dont yell, they don't tell, and their grateful as he**.

True dat.

I'll get a tattoo when they make them out of e-Ink. That way I can change it or make it dissapear whenever I want. :)

I know the 'permanence' is part of the point of getting a tattoo, but I also know for a fact that I am not the same person I was 10, 20, 30 years ago, and I hope to be a different person in another 10 years. If getting a tattoo is supposed to be an 'upgrade', then I want to be able to upgrade the upgrade just as I upgrade my hardware. :)

Sure, it's nice to show where you've been too, and that's part of the permanence of the tattoo, but I've never been anywhere and my past is rather boring so there's nothing I could get anyway. :)
