Im looking for a 640mb and have been offered a brand new one back from RMA.
How much is a good price for it?
It is worse than the GT, which is $200~.
Is the 9600GT better or worse? Thats around $170~.
Ideas?
THANKS!

If the GTS is a G92 revision then it will be better than the GT.
The GT and GTS are both better than the 9600.

9600 is less then a 8800GT. 8800GT vs old core GTS is about the same.

Considering I dropped $300 on a new one, $400 each on my first two, I think you're undershooting it a bit.
The old 640 does outperform the 8800GT by a fair margin. A single 640mb will run Crysis on Very High at around 20-24 frames while an 8800GT will just chug at the same settings (My Computer, SLI off, Brother's Computer, etc).
My SLI'd 640s will run 1920x1200 on just 'High' at around 30-40fps, but I can't help but feel I'm missing something and I drop the res to play on Very High instead, especially in SLI after the patch came out.

1680x1050 i choke when its on High, medium is alot smother yet its still at 25fps.
I did pay $450 for mine brand new back in april of last year when i got it.
The GTS 512mb is better, and i believe the GT is better than it.

Ranzear you have to realize your CPU runs circles around his at that speed lol.

Aha.
Just wait til I get my quad over 3ghz too.
A lot of G92 > G80 (BS) stems from CPU bound resolutions as usual, much like SLI setups of the same.
Let me clarify - My single 8800GTS with a Brisbane around 3.3ghz outperforms, by a fair margin (10fps in Crysis?), my brother's single 8800GT and Windsor (larger cache) at 3.1ghz. My SLI 640s now run his settings at 1920x1200.

For that kinda money you could buy a G92 GTS and make him look like an idiot with that 640.

Now I'm thinking its his slow ass RAM. I thought the 8800GT just matched the GTS, though I'm also noting they always seem to compare a Factory OC'd 8800GT to a nonspecific 8800GTS, likely stock 500mhz clock or even 320mb.
I'm stuck with the GTSs until I feel like buying new waterblocks too.
