I found this hilarious...
A pilot scheme has been launched in Brick Lane after it was found to have the highest number of 'walking and texting' injuries in the country.
A study carried out by 118 118 found one in ten people has hurt themselves while focused on their mobile phone screen.

You can't cure stupid. But the government is sure trying to treat it.

More like nurture it! Don't underestimate the speed of stupid. If I could make a CPU/GPU that ran off of stupid power...geez I would get 10000000000000 FPS in Crysis on max settings and resolution.

Leave the damn cell phones alone people. Most people can't walk and chew gum at the same time let alone walk and talk on a cell phone. I've said it before and I'll say it again, cell phones are contributing to the dumbing down of society. I don't own one and hope I never do.

I can walk and play Tetris at the same time.....I don't have a cell phone though.

That is exactly it. I have a RAZR and I will stop what I am doing when I answer or talk on it. Because you cannot concentrate on a conversation especially if it is an important one and do other things at the same time. I had a woman hit my car because she was on a cell phone and ran through a red light and struck me on the side. My head went out the side window the hard way. She got her license suspended for a year and a $100 fine. She did not even slow down and struck me doing about 60km/h. Needless to say both cars were write off's. I had about 30 witnesses calling her a freakin menace as she almost hit a woman with a stroller as well who were just about to cross the street and noticed she was not slowing down. I on the other hand did not see it coming as there was a big tree blocking my view and I was already going 60km/h through the green light. Even if I saw it coming for that split second there was no way to avoid it.

If the government did cure stupid, wouldn't it make the government dissapear? :)
It's self-preservation pure and simple. :)

Heaven forbid they use that money for something intelligent. Like helping people that actually need help. What a waste of resources and time. Have we really gotten that bored? You know what I think? You'll see a decline in the number of people walking into lampposts and an increase in the number of people being run over by cars as they walk blindly into the street. And then sue the government for not protecting them.

I still subscribe to the take the warning label off of every thing and let nature take it's course method of natural selection.

You know what's funny? People can't walk and text at the same time, but I see them trying to drive and text all the time. It's scary. Some people just weren't meant to breed. Personally, I carry a concealed weapon, or used to, till I moved to California (still waiting for a Cali permit) and I've managed to never shoot myself or anyone else accidentally. Can you imagine some of these yahoo's trying to handle a weapon? They'd probably just keep texting while they're waving it around.

I vote the same actually. Because I get pretty tired of dealing with stupid people day after day. Need to thin the herd so to speak. :devildance:
