Right on the dot, why should I have to help pay for it when other people can. I like the services but I dont think I should pay for them. In fact the government should pay me for them because it would help me out.

Although I would rather have no income tax, it is necessary for our country to exist. I do think that we should tax people with more money a lot more heavily though.

We already do. I for one am not rich. Nor do I think that we should start re-distributing wealth. Lots of other countries have tried that. Its called Socialism, and it doesn't work.

I don't mind paying taxes on services on my local area, garbage, fire department...cleaning...blah..blah...but I am not happy about the double taxation and sometimes tripple taxation.

I get payed taxes get deducted, I buy a gallon of milk, taxes. I pay for my gasoline in my car...add taxes...SHEESH...freaking nightmare!!!

Welcome to the land of the fee. Other countries I've been to take as much as 50% right off the check and forgo all the other taxes. Ours just prefers to take it in a different manner. The countries that take it one big lump, cut that lump up and redistribute it to the towns, counties, etc. In the States they take their part, then let the states, counties, and towns nickel and dime for theirs.

Yea it gets a little old, but if you really believe there's no law to uphold taxes stop paying them. By the time they get done with you, when they get around to it, taxes will be the least of your problems. Check out the hefty penalties and interest you'll pay for being behind. Not to mention lawyers fees, garnishment of your wages, bail and every thing associated with bucking the system.

How do I know, my Uncle works for the regional IRS and has for 23 years, he's a lotta fun at parties. ;-)

I've paid 45-47% in taxes in the past. It hurts.

But it hurts less than having big burly guys in plate armor poke sharp swords into you for not giving enough flour to your lord...

Taxes might be illegal, but they are a lot more polite than feudal knights have ever been (arthurian poetic license notwithstanding :) )
