Hello im new here just got a xfx 680i LT MB i had 2GB of ram running in it for a few weeks and everything was fine.
It read it was in dual channel 2x 1GB kit but now that i bought another dual channel kit the same kit now 4x 1GB it wont read dual channel only single.
Im running a 64bit OS and it reads i have 4GB of ram just not in daul channel when i check with CPUZ and when it post.
Anyone know how i can fix this will 4 sticks of 1GB run dual channel?
Thanks for your time

odd problem. Have you tested the ram individually to make sure that they are working fine. Also, have you updated to the latest bios? Changed the voltage requirement for your ram?

Does it say "128-bit" during POST when your computer boots up?

Don't rely on CPUZ to tell you if you are going dual channel or not. Mine does not say it either but when I post it shows up as 128bit.

Make sure each matched set is in its respective channel together. I.E. both original sticks in the "blue" slots and the new sticks in the "black" slots. (your slots colors may differ). What are the newer sticks you have just put in? are they the exact same? if not have you found a set of timings that works well for both sets sticks to use with them together?

It should be showing up as the same since you said you bought the same kit. Im running unmatched pairs right now and im running dual channel. Some boards are picky though.

Yeah well the XFX 680i Lt is a pretty glitchy board from what I have read in the motherboard problem area.

4 sticks of RAM is glitchy in any Mobo, best to run 2x 2G.
