If this is the best Nvidia can do in writing drivers, AMD has nothing to worry about. Looks like another rush job on trying to get the product to market. I really expected this card to spank the 3870X2. Shame on you Nvidia.

Looks like it beats it in Crysis. 3dmark06 is just that - 2006. Don't expect it to be relevant much longer.

But my dual G80s spank them both.

Yes, it beat the X2 on crysis by a 20% margin on 1280x1024, but less then 5% on 1600x1200. We don't have a comparison on 1920x1200 because I think the X2 craps out with insufficient memory. You also have to take into consideration the price points of both cards. As it is the X2 is the better buy.

You also have to take into consideration that a high res bench has already been posted on the forums and the GX2 outperforms the X2 on a good margin. At least thats my opinion considering i thought it was going to be a huge flop. (Still is, just not as bad)

Anyone have any confirmation the GX2 puts out heat like a toaster oven?

I am under NDA so can't say much, but DAMN NICE CARD. And no it does not seem to bad to me on heat.

wait for Scott's result when he put that card in his qx9650. Let's see if he can break any record. I personally would think that 9800GTX will even be equally good card if NVIDIA can price it reasonably enough.

Here is a full review from Tweak. They claim their system was getting CPU bottlenecked.

I bet they would get alot higher performance by using a highly OCed e8400. They should have done Crysis on all high in both Vista and XP.

We could have tested the GX2 at stock speeds but with the CPU at 3.75GHz, it’s kind of boring. You don’t turn around and overclock a 2.4GHz quad-core processor to 3.8GHz and leave your graphics card at default speeds. Lol this is what i tell all my friends. They are afraid to OC their video card ut they will massively OC their CPU??

Well Intel CPUs are pretty robust and hard to kill. I have an old 2.4C in my sons computer that has been overclocked to 3 for 7 years now and it still hasn't died. GPUs however are a more delicate breed. Especially on the ram, you can't swap out the ram you fry.

AMD processors are more resiliant. Had a Opteron run at 75C for a week at about 8 hours a day. Dumb mobo didnt beep like it was supposed to when the CPU got over 60 :-x. :bowdown:I bow in AMD great building.
