Serious weirdness occuring here. Ok i had a p5ne-sli, 4 x 1gb ram corsair displayed and showed in vista 32 as 3.4. all was good.

Got my xfx 780i, only showed 2gb in windows, hmmm... went with it for now and bought a 2nd 8800gt for my sli setup. Now, i bought 2 x 2gb of ram instead of 4 x1gb, thinking that may have been an issue. And still just 2048 showing in windows.

Now with switching around i find that in SLi mode i see only 2048.

with 1 card in single mode i see 2.5

with the other (same model) card i see 2.8???

i flashed to P03 when i first got the board, and all vista hotfixes including the 4gb patch are on there. I even reinstalled vista 32 tonight to see if all the OC attempts to get to 3.6 on my q6600 were the issue, again no.

I still can't get to 3.6 on my quad, is this another sign that some weird memory issue is the problem?

1gb and 2gb modules tried in every slot in every configuration. Not a godamn thing?!!!

losing my mind, shall i take back for a change in the morning??? or will i get in there and have them test with a random brand 8800 and see all 4gb.

my head is in the bin................................... :frown:

You need a 64bit OS to see 4G, with a 32bit OS you will see 3.5G minus VideoRam and other stuff.

There is an exception. On my current rig I have an Intel mobo, and the bios update allows 3.5G of the 4G to be seen. I have a 256M vid card.

But you still aren't seeing all 4GBs of ram.
