Hi. I heard that geforce 9k series are gonna be some repackaged 8k series. Do you think that 10 series or whatever it is gonna be called, will come out atleast this year? Maybe if amd puts on a card that could compete with nvidia? I wish that could happen though. I really want a crazy card to play crysis at decent frames. My 8800GT trple-x won't help too much.

Just wait for something to pop up. We know as much as you do (cept maybe Scott)

I am very disappointed that they decided to water down the 9800GTX so much, boo Nvidia.

Yea cant wait till 10 series. Should have much better performance. Though if ATI gets in gear Nvidia might have to make a 9900 =). That would be sweet.

Asking about the 10 series is like asking about intel's next move; who knows what it is.

I think nVidia's next true video cards, which is the GT200/G100, should be out when the R700 is out which should be by the end of this year.
Give this (http://www.crysis-online.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=afc7691afe7f3fabfb51ac12f4274c c2&topic=22433.0) a read and whether you believe it or not, always have that grain of salt handy.

Its hilarious that you are complaining that your 8800GT XXX is too slow for Crysis :dielaffin:

Hopefully that will bring us some performance increase. It seems like the video cards have been at the same speeds for about a year or two now. Very dissapointing. I want to see crysis being played at 1680x1050 with 4x AA and at Very high with 40+ FPS. When there will be a card to handle that on such a resolution, I will get that card.

Guys, clock for clock the 9800GTX is the same as the GTS 512mb. Even at a stunning core clock of 900mhz a 3dmark06 score was the same. The only real difference here is Tri-Sli capable.

This is funny maybe its the rest of your hardware thats slowing down your 8800GT???? My 8800GS has no problems with Crysis in high 4xAA with medium shadows (lol)

Bad mojo on Nvidia's part naming a new card 9800 when their rival ATI used that number years ago. ATI radeon 9800.

What I meant was that they'll be out before this year ends meaning anytime from now until the end of this year

OH.. I meant decent speed in few antialiasing, all very high, full motion blur. Also with 1650*1050. After I changed my monitor to 22inch wide, I get more lag since that resolution is the optimized one for my screen. :(. I used to get like 40frames or more T.T. I love the old days with 17inch monitor.

Of course you wont lag at 1024x768. Why do you think everybody is complaining about high res these days? Hardly anybody plays at a low res anymore.

Yea would make it better to use your SLI to the fullest thinking about buying a 22" just havent decided to let go of the money yet. may just decide to go all out and grab the XFX 780i sli board and a 22" and 2 g92 512 GTS's. soon as I decide to give up the money LOL. also pick up a quad.

Something larger than 22" would be better to really take advantage of two 8800GTS 512MB video cards running in SLI.

What are your suggestions 30" or bigger????
Just curious cause I'm getting my work comp settlement in a few weeks and will have money to burn so nows the time to get extreme LOL.

Atleast a 24 incher or larger since the native resolution of a 22" doesn't exactly take advantage of two 8800GTS 512MB video card running in SLI.

SLI with 9--- GPU will gain 60-80% gains with SLI with any res on the monitor.

yes but i dont want the 9600's and right now the GTS's would be a good buy (G92) but then again I still have about 2 or three weeks so when are the 9800 series going to be available XFX preferably (sorry just a fan of XFX)
BTW I'll have about 2000.00 to spend on this setup The rest is for bills, auto, etc.
Also starting a thread for this topic. Named SLI setup your opinion.
