.... I was thinking about going SLI sometime here soon. I already have an 8800 GT 512MB XXX A-dog; would I see a benefit from getting a single 9800 gx2 over SLI 8800 GT? I mean, are they not both G92?

SLI with a 8 is around 20% scaling, 9 is about 80% scaling. I would go for a single 9800gx2.

You'll probably see an improvement with the 9800x2 they scale better on SLI even dual GPU single card.

There's nothing wrong with your current card. It will run pretty much anything you throw at it... Unless you need to have the best card atm, I would stick with your current card until your come across something that it won't run very well, but that's just me :P

You might not notice any difference depending on the resolution that you run. Are you pushing 1280? Probably not. Around 1920 or higher, then you might.
