Greetings everyone, I have an 80mm case fan which has white tape around it, i know this is to protect the LED's but it is an eyesore as it is mounted on my clear side panel and in line of sight. I have seen many other LED fans that do not have this tape and might buy another down the road. Would it be that big of a deal to remove it?, it's not like they are super expensive fans.

Sometimes the LEDs and wires are embedded into the tape. Just take a good look at it. Post a close up picture.

It wouldnt happen to be an Antec tri-LED would it? I have one of those. I typicaly use Thermaltake or Cooler Master for my LED fans (quad LED and no BS)

I know what your talking about. It is the smart fan series with the white ribbon holding everything together. Don't take that off as that is holding the led's in place as well as the wiring.
