Currently I have a mirror raid SATA configuration each of the two Hard Drives is 500G. I now want to redo this configuration using two 750Gig HD instead.
Can I reuse the two 500 Gig HD's as a regular IDE or need to convert them back using some sort of special software?

The answer is simple, yes, yes you can. Just repartition and reformat the HDDs as you see fit please.

If it is raid-1 just turn off raid in BIOS and you should be fine.

Are you just talking about using the two sata drives in non-raid mode? They wouldn't be IDE if you were to do this, they would still be sata.
You can do it but you would need to destroy the array in your BIOS and then re-format the drives in Windows.
If you want to keep your data you gotsta back it up. :icon_tiphat:
If you're talking about putting a sata drive on an ide port it is possible if you grab an adapter from newegg.
Edit: Miker slipped in before me. If it is RAID 1 then do what he said. If it's RAID 0 or any other then you would need to destroy the array.

Thanks for that erroneous catch Xero, I mean to say to be use as a normal SATA configuration. ;)

I think he means he wants to make a new raid configuration using two 750GB HDDs and he wanted to know if he can still reuse his current 500GB HDDs not configured in raid.
EDIT: Unless I missed something I think that is what he means.

Werty316, hit the pin right on the head.
But I thought that is what I am trying to say...lol.
Seems to me like this could be done without much hassle and third party applications.

If they are Raid-1, you can just turn raid off and run them as 2 separate drives.

lulz, how can a SATA HDD be a IDE.
So let me get this straight, you have 2 SATA 500GB's and 2 SATA 750GB's HDD's.
yes you can, just remove the 500GB, delete the old raid, and install the new raid setup with the 2x750GB's.
