Ok so the max i could get my 3000+ was 2.8ghz pushing 1.712v through it. It wasnt stable but i could get it stable at 2.75. It was makin my room really hot so i just decided to do the usual and drop it back down to 1.55v 2.6ghz.

Anyways i just aquired me a 4000+ Sandy last night :shaka: and was thinking yea i can easily bust 3.0ghz with a stock clock of 2.4ghz. WRONG!
The max i can get outa this thing is 2.95 with 1.66v. It wont take any vcore higher than that and i havent tested it in 3dmark yet but im betting its unstable.

I am only stable at 2.8 ghz with my Sandy too...however, I dont want to loosen my timings either but remember your memory may be holding you back as well and not the cpu. My 2.8 ghz though I only have to increase 1.4v to get it to 2.8 ghz.
I only have 1gb of memory so thats another reason why Im thinking of upgrading to the next generation cause I just dont want to sink anymore money into ddr1 systems.

Well im running a mem divider keeping my ram at 400mhz also running my timings at 3-3-3-7 just to make sure its the CPU.
When all actuality it WASNT the CPU. My new VF900-cu on my second 7950GT wasnt on properly so it was slowly overheating causing my pc to lock up. Ill be trying to OC it more later tonight to make sure it was that.

Just because its AMD dosent mean **** really man. My 3000+ could get a full ghz OC on it on air. Its just these cores (the Sandy since im on s939 which is the king of sockets IMO) arent very good OCers. Not only that its a 4000+ which if im not mistaken is the fastest single core Athlon64 before getting an FX-55. Meaning it dosent have much headroom. Im trying to score an FX-55 for this thing. That would be awesome.
Oh yea, got the video problem straightend out and im still maxing at 2.9ghz. Freakin lame yo.
