View Full Version : Grrrr ... 8800GS vs. 9600GT vs. 320MB GTS

Alrighty, me being broke, and all....

Lattly, my 79's have been having problems with fans, display colors, etc.... pissing me off, so im selling them to a friend (i dont know why he wants them, but hes paying) and im going for budget high-end cards (8800's 9600s)

8GS ~$100-110
9GT ~$120-130
8GTS 320 ~ 120-130


Anyone got performance specs @ 1400x and 1600x res? for various games (similar platforms.) (as well as decent sound db comparisons?)

Get a 8800GT 512m or a 9600GT 512m. For that res make sure you get 512m+.

Well my 8800GS gets 11,032 3Dmark06 score, I run everything in 1440x900 on my LCD if that helps any...Thats with an E2200 cpu...I'm sure it would do better with a E6750, or quad of some type....I play COD4 tottally maxxed, Timeshift maxxed, NFS most wanted maxxed, thats the newer games I have right now but I did try the crysis demo and had no problems running at HIGH settings 2xAA with medium shadows. Hope this helps you out...

Palit is a good company, but you should look at a cheapter 512 card. So far, as I hve seen, 512 is enough for almost every game, and 1gb is just more money.

They are a little out of his price range, a 8800GT 512m is what you need though.

Wait till you can get a XFX 8800GT for 150 or so once more 9s come out and prices drop.

to late I already ordered up tehs 9600gt, i figured for the games I play (not crysis) and for the otherstuff I do, that it will do just fine for me.

Do you have a problem with the way I think? Or the fact that I had specific goal that was completly ignored? Did I say 8800GT ? no. did i say g92 gts? no.

Well that is a shame, because I am just a daemon on this server, occasionally spewing out posts.

Everyone here on this forum are here helping people for the simple reason that they enjoy it, they are simply giving their point of view, I am sorry you have taken offense to that.
