I have a dell latitude C610, I have the Hard drive password, Primarypassword but i dont know the configure setup password/admin password. I can't change anything in the bios is there a way i can clear it. On a desktop i would just clear the cmos but yay for laptops.

I would imagine they also have a CMOS jumper, for the same reason. Did you pull the access covers? Also, check under your keyboard, maybe it's on that side.
Edit: Here's an interesting read...
Reset your BIOS password (http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic18780.html)

lol i got a c610 too, and I dont believe there is a way to clear this without entering the password to access bios, where its enabled/disable. you could try the dell website, they still offer pretty good support on the 610.

One more site to read (http://www.makinterface.de/forum/read.php?f=1&i=559&t=559&v=f)
This is a little harder to follow, I think it was translated. But I have seen on two or three sites now that the password is stored on an EEPROM and that you need a EEPROM programmer to reset it. And then others say that the CMOSPWD program works.

Cmos jumpers cant be done on this laptop. Thanks for the links but they wont work. I know there is a way to do it by shorting 2 pins but i dont know which 2 and were.

Woot i think word got out i fixed a c610. Another guy with a c610 called about the same problem. Now that i think about it i think one of the schools had an auction recently hopefully i get more calls i need to pay for overdue class fees before it gets to close to the end of the semester or i wont be able to register for next semester.
The pins you short are near one of the ram slots. You have to be very careful though one of the pins has a current running through it. So i used protection a paper clip with a rubber, i mean with the colorful paper clips with the rubber junk aound it and just stripped the very tips. you have to turn the laptop on while you short it. Its a 3 hand job and sucked to hell doing it with 2 and with the dumb thing under the metal plate.
Not my pics just pics i found the left is what it really looks like and the right is what i wish the situation was like.

Hello my name is David my registered name on this site is cob542. I am looking for information on how to short the eeprom so I can fix this laptop. I tried to post in the forums and it hasn't got past the moderator to approve it? I would very much like to know where the eeprom is located and how to short this. If you could be so kind as to let me know or point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a nice day.
