View Full Version : My system
I was pretty bored today so I decided to pop out my cam and :takapic:
I've been doing some upgrades to my system here and there within the past two weeks. Specs are in my sig. And for those of you wondering, that's a Silverstone FP52 in the top 5.25'' bay. Phenom 9850 coming soon.
Let me know what you guys think. :-)

Nice. Are those speakers logitech? Seems like it. I like your case btw. I should have chosen better case than antec 900..
Nice. Are those speakers logitech?
Yeah, they are. They're actually pretty awesome for the price.
Thanks guys. :)

Very nice except for your RAM 533 @ 600 you need to be running 800 @ 900 then youd be set especially with the new phenom ur getting your ram is going to be a bottleneck like it is right now. You have an 8800GT and a 06 score of 10,000 change that ram you should be hitting 12000+, I get 11000+ with my 8800GS. Anyway u have a very nice system except ur ram. Its like you bought the race car and went with a six cylinder instead of the 8...LOL, Good news is with the Phenom and that board you can skip the ddr2 800 and go for the ddr2 1066....Yeaaaa.

I definately like the cable management you did there.. and the speakers are nice. Im lookin at getting a set of those. Does the surround sound still sound realistic even if the speakers are setup like yours?

Along with the Phenom I will be definitely getting some new ram. I won't get anything less than PC2 8500. I'm thinking some Corsair Dominators would be awesome. They got a 4GB kit of PC2 8500 with a cooling system for $140 off newegg. I might settle for that.

Does the surround sound still sound realistic even if the speakers are setup like yours?Of coruse it wont. I dont understand why people get 5.1 speakers and set the rear speakers in front of them? Arent the 540s wireless with the rear speakers? Making them able to be put anywhere without fear of cable?
Also nice system, id reverse your hard drives though.

They're ok. They'd definitely be better if they were set up the way they're supposed to. I mainly use them for music so I could care less. When I game, I use my gaming headphones which are much better in terms of surround sound. Plus, I don't annoy everybody else in the house with the sub.

Awesome looking system. Looks really cool and shiny.

No, they're not wireless. I wish they were because I'd be able to put them somewhere else other than my desk. My room is too big and wires would be all over the place. I hate clutter so that's not going to happen. lol

I'm definitely going to have to do that. Thanks :)

Very nice job. Took the time and it shows. Good stuff! I can vouch for those speakers, I have the exact one's myself and they are awesome.
@PP Nope they are wired not wireless. Would have been nice to have wireless but I have managed to hide the wires nicely and run them behind on the ceiling. Excellent surround sound!

My cable management is pretty good. Back in my AXP days they where top notch withOUT a modular PSU. Ive just gotten lazy cause im constantly changing my PC. When i get a new case, and new everything else you bet your butt that you wont see cables.
What are you going to upgrade to? Whatever it is, it better have an AMD CPU.
When i get a new case, and new everything else you bet your butt that you wont see cables.
And that's how it should be.
I really believe cable managment is just as important as having a fast PC. To me, it makes the difference between an "awesome" computer and a "good" computer. I guess you could call me a neat freak since I'm like that with pretty much everything. lol

Im exactly that way too. Plus, the less cables you see the better airflow you have. Thats how i put it anyways.
PhenomX4 9850, 6gig Patriot Extreme Performance DDR2 800, DFI 780a SLI or Asus Crosshair II 780a SLI (Whichever i can get my hands on), 9800GTX possibly x2
And of course always AMD.

Wow, 6GB's of RAM? What the hell are you going to be doing that's going to be needing 6GB's of RAM? lol
Should be an awesome system, though...

Well i have 2gig of that ram already in my X2 AM2 system. Im just going to purchase a 2x2gig set to add to it.
Also one word. Vista.

I see. Well, in that case you should go for it.
I have a hard time using the 4GB's in my system when using vista. I rarely go over 1.7GB's usage...

Well when i actualy do get this, since i have so much to take care of i wont be upgrading for a long while. Future proofing. We will be using 6gig in like no time.
Turned HDD's around and it looks much cleaner. I also re-routed the wires from my back exhaust fans that were coming from the back to the front of the case. They're not visible anymore.

Get a round IDE cable or whatever that is.
Never heard of it. I've seen Blu-ray drives that use SATA cables but that's about it.
Got a link to what you're talking about?

Actualy idk, i like how you have the company name facing out. I typicly just hide mine but thats pretty creative.
I was actually looking for ways to hide it but it grew on me and I eventually started to like the look. I'd still prefer hiding the cable, though. lol
