When I first started playing Crysis on my 8800GT on high settings and 1680x1050 no AA, I was getting around 40FPS average with no OC. Now when I play with about 20% OC, I get about 15FPS, and then change back to stock and no difference. I am being forced to play at 1280x800 Medium settings with no AA on or it will just crash. What do I do?

Get XFXSupport to send you a copy of the bios, maybe you messed it up.

Either that or your just in the game further and the extra stuff going on is causing your performance to drop. I had to drop my settings when i hit the aliens.

I'm not even at the Aliens, I'm just getting to the part outside of the mine where the big mountain is falling apart and its all lightningy at the top of it. Also, I bought it from EVGA so I'll send them an email. How do put the bios on the card?

I get about 40-50fps on very high settings on 1680x1050 (ok, granted, I run two OCed 8800GTs in SLI). There are a couple of tricks you need to employ
1. Run Crysis under DX9.0 using the hacks to the config files that allow the game to run very high settings. See here (http://www.tweakguides.com/Crysis_1.html)
2. Install the latest Nvidia beta drivers
3. Make sure your Vista is patched with the optional patches (the link above should have them) - there were a number of patches that make a difference to fps
I can run everything on high w/o AA, on DX10, at 1600x1200 (or less; I usually play it at 1280x.....) and I can play through the entire game with no problems. This wasn't always the case though. Once I got that q9450 things just got better like that. And no I'm not making it up. People say graphics card but your chip has alot to do with playing Crysis too. The only hits in frames I take is when I zoom in on like three soldiers, standing in the water, while I'm getting shot at by ten things at once, or something..... and even then the frame hits last for a fraction of a second and if I zoom out and zoom back in the second zoom will be smooth.

I never lagged on that mountain falling part. I lagged until the end when i landed to the big cruiser thingy and yo know. I don't want to screw your surprise.

Yea, I'm not sure if this corresponds, but I think it could possibly partially have to do with my RAM.
