My Cyber Sniper mouse pad keeps ripping the pads of the bottom of the mouse. I'm at the pc alot and usualy wear the surface flat in the center. What are good mouse pads that track well with laser mice and how long should it hold up under heavy use?

One word, XTrac. Mine has lasted a long time at the PC 8+ hours a day.

Hmm the best mouse pad is a free mouse pad

I think it be a good idea to have a contest on who can collect the most free mousepads online, retailers and companies give em away all the time. :devildance:

I'd go with SteelPad mousepads. They come in different sizes, different qualities and for different uses.

They're quite good and not that expensive.

I personally own one of their smallest and cheapest mousepads, the SteelPad Qck-mini.

You can have a look at their website and I'm pretty sure you can "google" for some reviews about their pads...

Best is to have a surface where you dont have to use a mouse pad. Ive used the spot right next to my keyboard for years and it has yet to get a scratch.

Mice pads are not meant to stop scratches, but to give a consistent bounce of the laser/LED. X-trac pads are the best for laser mice.

I am going to order a x-trac, like the price also. I am tired of ordering so called gaming mouse pads that are expensive and wear out fast. Thanks for the info.

I didnt say it was going to stop scratches this thread is about worn out mouse pads so i was stating that i have yet to get a scratch. I dont notice any difference with or without a mouse pad even with my friends G7 with the dpi cranked.

O, well I had a G5 with a reg pad and it was very flakey, the X-trac made is so perfect that it felt like a new mouse. X-trac are so big for the price too, you can usually cut them into 4 pads. I wash mine with just a wet papertowel.

I just saw something, make sure you get a XTRAC RIPPER Optical Mouse Pad, not a pro one for ball mice.
