Set your CPU at its stock freq. and see if that helps.

Does this happen with every game or just a select few?

EDIT: did you uninstall your old display drivers before installing the 8600GT?

If you get these BSOD randomly it wouldn't' hurt to give memtest a try.

1. What's the graphics driver u r using ? Remove it & install it freshly.

2. Check to see if your CPU & GPU fan is workin' properly.I mean if there's any obstructions or dust is present, clear that.

3. Try your PSU & GPU in other machine if possible.

4. Revert to stock CPU speed.

Hope you'll get a solution of your problem from the very knowledgeable & helpful people here.I think, overheating is the culprit here.

He also got BSOD while surfing the net.So, we can't blame the game alone. ;)

Friends don't let friend processors smoke drugs.....
I bet an hour later, all it wanted was a cheeseburger and a nap, and was all like "You're my best friend".....

sorry, could not resist....... :)
