Thermalright's latest version of its Ultra-120 eXtreme cooler carries two changes; it's now black in colour, and it's now called the TRUE Black 120.

Its no bigger than the standard 120. Just its black. Just go to Wal Mart, buy some semi gloss black paint and paint yours. Thats what im going to do with my VF-900s

Sure it will look cool but it will not work as well if you paint it. I know how it effects things in terms of cars and things like intercoolers. I would be very interested in seeing how or even IF temps are affected by painting your heat sink. My guess is that it would not work as well if it where painted.
like ZeroTherm Nirvana 120 black?
or envy of the zerotherm nirvana 120 black?

On PC heatsinks paint dosent affect them.
yes it can.
Do you know the thermal properties of differnt types of paint?

If it affected them we wouldnt have colored heatsinks now. Im sure the people with actual degrees making money to make this stuff would know alot more than us about it. And a respected member that used to go to these forums already tested it out and the paint didnt effect the temps at all.

Any word on whether they've fixed the warped base problem? That looks very nice, if it fits the Nehalem I may have to get one myself.

Pictured above, the new Special Edition heatpipe tower is black nickel plated
It's not painted, but plated. It's the same as my Zalman 9500 (the black kind with the green fan)
I don't think that paint would affect temperatures too much as long as it's an enamel (made for bonding with metal) and not something more insulative like a latex paint (practically rubber).
Das Capitolin did paint his heatsink but it was only the very top if I remember so I don't think that would make any difference at all since all of the other fins haven't been touched.

Marklebb painted his whole heatsink and it didnt make a difference at all.
