I sent my current mobo in for replacment last and having PC withdrawls I scrounged around for any pc parts I had. I was able to build a system around an old MSI K8N Neo Plat mobo(745), AMD64 3200+ CPU, 1GB Corsair PC3200(twinX), a 40GB Seagate HD, a BFG 6800GT GC(AGP) and an Antec Truepower 550Watt PSU and of course XP. Having put everything together and installing XP it all booted up fine. However I am now having problems with the graphics card.

Sometimes when I power up I see a scrambled graphical boot up screen, if I let it it will continue to boot but the screen will still be scrambled graphics(kind of like a patchwork quilt) with the colors changing. It always happens if I do a restart and I have to power off wait 10 - 20 secs and power up again. I have tried running different driver sets with no luck, I am running 169.21 WHQL at the moment. One odd thing is when I uninstall the Nvidia drivers the problem goes away, allright I am running the GC at 800x600 res or even lower but the problem does go away. I only mention this in case it gives anyone an idea of what is causing the issue. I am wondering if the GC is on the way out but I really am stumped. BTW the GC's temps are within the proper limits approx 61 Celcius. One other thing worth mentioning is this never happens when the system is up and running only when I turn it on and always when I do a restart from within XP. Any ideas?
