What a GREAT prize!!!
Too bad I can't fold too much lately...Mainly because my main rig at home is occuiped almost all day long by my wife (and she's complaining when the folding console in ON...:frown:) and since I just started a new job recently, I still don't feel comfortable with installing the folding console on the desktop at work. And...I also returned the Laptop I had from my previous workplace. :frown:
So currently, the only rig I can fold on, is my PC at home. Hopefully I'll manage to fold 15 WUs this month and be eligible for the contest.
Anyway, GOOD LUCK everyone and :keepfolding:

Canado... Is that the country neighboring the US of A? It does sound like a spanish word! :D
I've got two cores folding already... I could probably get folding on up to 13 cores, but I doubt my Asus EEE will make a very good folding machine :)
On the other hand I've been very impressed by the folding ability of my 8400E cpu... And I have a spare one of those, if I had a case I could fold on it too! :)
It was tax day 2 days ago in Canado... So I did some accounting, it cost me about 1000 $ of electricity last year. :) I guess I can afford to fold in bursts. :)

Do those little WU's count as WU's in this contest? Like the little 15 point ones?

One big 2144 point SMP work unit equals 142 of those.

Yup they count too! As your girlfriend told you..."Don't worry it's not the size that matters..."

Thankfully, for me, celeron Ls dont produce much heat nor use much energy. It is 35w at load stock but if I overclock it to around 2.8GHz, I am guessing it will use around 60w of energy.
I can also probably even use a passive heatsink if I really needed to.

At least you have that X2. Right now I am attempting to run F@H on a P4 1.5GHz Willamette. I figured it out an 1% will take me 8 minutes on project 4411. That is 13 hours per WU which will buy me some time till I get my Celeron L 420.
I am just wondering how much energy these old P4s took to run?

I can't believe mine is up to 11 already. There must have been a few small one thrown my way.
We'll see if I finish the 15. I didn't have hope of doing it before but now I see that it might be possible.

Depends on the core. 130nm>90nm>65nm in order of energy use. Clock speed also plays a factor.

I hit 15 units today. I still have one processor that has not reported. I believe it is my AMD62 5000+ Black Edition. I checked it this morning and it had two work units ready to upload.

From the folding FAQ: First you must stop the service using the instructions from the question below. Next go to the "Start" menu, and open "Run". Browse to the FAH client you wish to configure, and then once it is listed in the "Open" box, add a " -config" after it and press enter. When you are done, you can close the window and start the service.

The very first WU i did seems to have not counted. When the WU finished f@h client had crashed. Completed 4000000 out of 4000000 steps, kind of a bummer no points for it.

If you remember the project number, you could try making a post in the official F@H forums and explain what happened. I've seen people get credit for work units after doing that. It's worth a shot.
