Is there any way to get rid of the resolution limit on Windows ME? Im kinda stuck at 1280x1024 and everything is fuzzy unless i use 1440x900. No, im not installing XP.

Im not positive but im sure there is some way of doing it. You may want to hit up a more OS based forum for this one!!

Im sure one of the older members will know that have experience with ME. I never really used it cause i thought it was crap for a OS so i stuck with 98se. But even then i never had a CRT that could handle anything above 1280x1024 so i never had this problem :(

Have you tried changing the refresh rate when you've tried the 1280x1024 ? Try installing the monitor driver ( if you don't have it installed ) & set the refresh rate as high as the monitor supports for that resolution.I hope you'll get a solution from someone if this doesn't work. ;)

Used ME on a 17 inch CRT for about 6 months. 1280x1024 seemed to be the max – but I never had a need for more. You may want to try a utility to bump it up such as Display Resolution Manager (appropriate version unknown). I have to ask, what are you running that you would require ME?

A friends PC. He asked to have ME becaue he knows it best. I have my LCD on it right now and im not going to bump the refresh over 60hz on it. Its not needed and dosent help. I think i may convince him to use XP though and ill just tweak it becasue some of the things he wants to do requires a higher OS.

My best advice.... install XP, change the skin to look like Windows ME, and hope he doesn't notice. He'll be much better off... :hide:
Honestly I wouldn't know, it sounds like a possible GPU driver issue since this is an LCD, and therefore refresh rate won't be an issue here. Windows ME hasn't been supported by most hardware drivers for a very long time now... if you can convince him to upgrade to XP he would be much better off doing so. If he needs the familiar feel of ME there is always the Windows Classic theme...

Well like i already said i got him to use XP. And ATI has ME drivers for the 9800XT and it detects my LCD and everything just it wont go past that res. I think its an OS thing honestly but its no big now.
